    i just started buying bamboo rayon fibre products and i love them enough that i probably wont change my mind about it but its arguably worse for the environment, the chemicals they use to produce the rayon including carbon disulfide are highly poisonous neurotoxins, also depending on the extraction method of the rayon as much as half of the chemicals used to produce are lost and leeched into the environment through various means. A much better option if you could afford it is bamboo lyocell which is pretty much the same thing but 95% of all the chemicals and water used are recycled and reused which is much better for the environment and apparently make a stronger and softer fibre. I havent been able to experience bamboo lyocell myself and probably never will at my wage, but i hope i was able to inform atleast someone a little bit more about bamboo textiles.

    Hi, thank you for the informative video. I just have a few questions, in making the process of xanthation what is the usual amount or percentage of carbon disulfide needed?

    • @TextileVlog
      @TextileVlog  Рік тому

      Generally, the amount of carbon disulfide used in xanthation is calculated based on the weight of cellulose to be treated. Typically, the amount of carbon disulfide used is around 15-20% of the weight of cellulose. However, this can vary depending on the specific process and the desired properties of the final viscose product.
