These young people are amazing, their musicality is of the highest level. To be placed within the Percussion section as happened in this video gave a quite special insight into this section of the Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band. This Band is in a class of their own. What makes it even more special is the fact that the standard remains at this superb level whilst the members of the band spend three years as members. They arrive at the age of sixteen and over the next three years progress only then to leave, thus each passing year provides a new intake. They are truly wonderful.
Hi Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School, You all did your best and sounded good. I noticed that some of the percussion instruments have been retired. I like the large Percussion Corps. I remember days when there were four. They sounded good too. Keep up the good efforts. I wish you all good health, good fortune and happiness. " Hey! " It can't be said more often nor loud enough! Being a former high school clarinet player in a marching band in Michigan, USA, I greatly admire your great sound and dance steps as well. I always like to see the percussionists. They set the tempo of the band. "Health is Wealth" is a great motto, especially after everything that has happened.

I love the seen from behind the amazing timpani section of Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band, these students are so very accomplished musicians. It really does give the impression of their music being made whilst you eavesdrop on one section of this wonderful Band.

Those are sousaphones, or "beauty bass" as the KT SHS members refer to them. Also, notice that all the sousas are now the silver variety. KT SHS started replacing their older white sousaphones in 2017. They finally acquired enough new ones by 2022 that they could retire all of the white ones.

seeing KT from a different perspective is a gem. i'm even more amazed to see that members of the percussion team play different kind of instruments. i already love them, but now they've even earned more respect from me. really the best marching band in the world, bar none. would anyone know what class is this from though?

京都橘吹奏楽部に限らず、今年の3年生は入学当時からコロナに苦しんだ年代です。まともに部活が出来なかったと思います。2020年のイベントは殆ど中止だったから凄く苦労したと思いますが、よく仕上げてきましたね。
やっぱり、singの最後の「へい」の前のドラムが変わっている。ドラが無いからなのかな？

奏者全員がリズム隊に頼って演奏できることは全体のレベルにとって非常に重要です。しかしながら普通の高校生レベルだと本番の舞台ではリズム担当が走ってしまう傾向が強くあります。
この日の演奏はやや危ういところが一瞬ありましたが、ちゃんと全体でカバー出来ましたね。

ハウステンボスの前日、長崎国際音楽フェスティバルのステージを見に行きました。まさか翌日にハウステンボスでパレード&ステージをされているとは・・・。この日は、とても暑い日でしたので、体調を崩されていないか心配です。あと、演奏前のオフタイムの時に彼女達に遭遇しましたが、皆でガチャガチャやってました。(笑) 当然ですが、普通の高校生ですものね(笑)

Yeah you're right. But these kids probably don't have much time unlike when class 115 went to the Rose Parade. They really worked hard for that

海外含め全国を飛び回り、高い楽器をメンテしたり買い替えたり、学校にも親御さんにも相当負担が掛かってるだろうから、こういう支援は有り難いですよね✌️

全楽器に言えることではありますが、中でもベースギターは弦が太くて弾き始めの頃やしばらく弾いて無かったりすると指の皮がめくれる位にダメージを受けます。そのエレキベースを入れ替わり立ち替わり弾いている部員さん達は凄いですね😍
パレードやドリルではパーカスパートの部員さん達も座奏ではコンバスを担当されている部員さんも多いですが同じだと思います😍
