Removing Dish 52.0 & 54 0 remote back covers

It's really hard and painful with arthritic fingers, so I can not use my nails. Tried with small screw driver, and still it won't open..try again another day, but at least with the video have the idea how to open!!!

There may have been some buildup of dust or other matter in the seam between the back of her in the remote. I suggest following my video, when you have the remote upside down take your finger nail and pull the latch towards the rear and if you can when it's at the rear try to pry it down that would loosen up anything that might be holding it. I was having the same exact problem that you describe until I figured out how to do it. Hope that helps

You must have dust built up in the seam. just follow the video and you may have to pull a bit harder once you get your fingernail int he latch and push it forward. As you can see from everyone else this works.

You'd have to take the remote apart. would be easier to contact Dish they will send you a new remote.
