Eufaula,AL has been lucky to have so many tornadoes trail just north or south of town but almost never directly in town. This was on the north side by the lake in 2019, and then there was a slightly weaker one this year on the south side of town by the lake.
I watched a video last week where the idiot chasing the storm did not care about the possibility of injured people in the destroyed homes and businesses. Brett Adair; the videographers, in this video, deserve an atta-boy for their compassion, concerning the victims. Nice work, and i'm glad you guys made it through the storm, as close as you were.
The 1919 tornado in Eufaula was deadly. Killed someone at Whitlock's jewelry. Tornado hit downtown. The only tornado that hit Eufaula that I remember when living in Eufaula was a tiny EF0 tornado that did some light damage at Lake Point Resort. I cannot remember the exact year, but sometime during the late 70s. It knocked down a few trees and did just a little damage at the resort.
A great warning for chasers. There were a few lucky individuals who somehow forgot the Moore tornado. No matter your excitement and training, these phenomena aren't joking. And clearly, by needing to be just that much closer, you put you and your fellow chasers at risk. Find a way to get into your heads a little more and not so carried away by excitement. You'll live to hunt another day.
My other team member lives in Georgia and he was chasing and im in Minnesota reporting what was on radar and roads. The rotation this storm had that yall chased was crazy and alot of deaths may they R.I.P.
I was at home with my 10 month old when all of a sudden the sirens went off & it got dark outside, then heavy rain hit, then nothing but a rumble.. few minutes afterwards, it got light again outside.. It was that quick.. had no time to run to a safe place. Found out later, that the next road over from me, a small rotation that turned into a funnel cloud came through.. It didn't hit the ground as I was told, but did rotate enough to leave that part of the area and mine dark for a few... It was all in that sudden blink of an eye.
Brett, you guys do an an Awesome job!! My prayers are with everyone!! I have some family and friends that live near where this tornado hit. Trying to contact them now.
Yeah, 1500-2000 J/KG of cape with 0-1 SRH values of 500m2/s2, definitely should of been a PDS, that's an environment extremely conducive of producing monster tornadoes.
I think they(SPC) may have hesitated on calling a Moderate/High Risk due to unforseen clearing ahead of the storms and that the last Moderate risk used in Feb. did not warrant it at least in the area described.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. These super storms are going to be more frequent as the years go on. If you haven't noticed the weather has taken a major turn for wors of late, especially this winter
Scary afternoon! Once the warned cells moved out of the Montgomery area, it was a nasty squall line that moved in. I can not remember storms so nasty in a long time.
@DJ kralicek Music Producer Records there were a total of 35 tornados over several counties. Bodies are still being found. I live here and family works for the sheriff dept of Lee county. In one neighborhood nobody got out alive

Great footage as always. Stay safe this season and my thoughts and prayers are with those affected in Georgia and Alabama. Heartbreaking.

First Panama City Florida, Then Eufala Alabama? These southern small towns are just falling apart
My old hometown. They have been due for a tornado for decades.
You missed one.
Damn guys, how close were you to that thing? You can literally see the direction of the wind and rain changing in front of you.

that tornado was down our street on gammage Rd my cousins house was destroyed thank God it didn't hit my grandmas house
The tornado watch that was issued in this area should have been a PDS.
Our weatherman said he thought it could be a pds but I never heard about it after that. Our guys in Montgomery were on it!
ILovestorms pds?

Looked more like high-end EF3 damage to me, it really got rocked.
