Hey Sir thank you for the explanation. but I might be still confused about ur explanation on a failure condition that might happen during the operation where the vacuum state takes place because of some malfunction. my question is how we define external pressure/temperature? are they the parameters for the surrounding/environment? if yes so, why should we set the external pressure at the atm pressure and the temperature is at the same as the internal temp? when vacuum takes place inside the vessel means the external pressure will be greater than internal pressure because the pressure drops inside the vessel (and the internal temperature will drop as well). Why does this scenario end up affecting us to decide the external temp the same as the internal temp?. thank u in advanced.
Pressure drops immediately while temperature will not drop immediately, so you still have the operating temp of offset condition. Design temp for external pressure will be different in case of steam out condition. Think Why?
