Honestly I've never seen this movie when it was originally released at an art theater and remember being just as mad as I could be at the ending of this movie I literally walked out of the theater and said it's the same old Hollywood Tropez the gay guy dies they kill the gay character in this movie don't spend your money on this movie . It's been nearly 20 years since I saw this movie and now I feel differently it was a tragic love story even though it's followed the same projector of almost every gay movie I ever saw in my life where they were all dying of AIDS are all dying of some other horrible thing being gay bastard or whatever this movie is different this movie is better because of the Hollywood treatment they actually gave the characters life and structure and dynamic personalities and I look at this picture differently now but at the time it was very wrong it was very ugly and I found it to be very predictable . But that was through the lens of a gay man who never really thought Hollywood would ever tell a true love story between two gay men and although I still don't think that's ever going to happen this movie was exceptional .
