I don't think some peeps realize one of shisuis favorite things to see was itachi, cause they were like brothers, but in the end shisui had to give up the ability to see itachi so he could help itachi see. Kinda cheesy when put that way but also it's kinda poetic.

People really underrate shisui and say he did what he was supposed to, being a flashback character. They don't realize he was the reason of the whole show today. He trained itachi and his death is how he unlocked the mangekyo and itachi had to murder the clan, leading to sasuke's backstory, thus naruto's almost entire life
