Rusty and D261 is an interaction I never thought I'd see but I love it! Great story! I love how Rusty and Duncan put D261 in his place and D261 ended up being called Bowler
Well, I always wondered if Class 40 considered him a traitor to rusty for be Friend of the Steamers, specially for helping rescue Stepney

I always love seeing people write stories about characters who have rarely interacted with one another, if ever, and this one certainly didn't disappoint
Another banger story! And one with D261, no less!
I was worried that with the moment with Rusty mentioning how others would view him negatively, it would show Sir Handel and Duncan ripping into him. Thank god you didn't, because that would be the most predictable moment in the story ever and I'm just tired of them getting the shaft, especially Sir Handel. Having Rusty and Duncan cooperate together was a great combo!
This gives me excitement when STH had a plan to shut Bowler up about steam engines.
This felt like straight out of season 4. Exceptionally good.
The opening felt more like Season 5 than Season 4.

Amazing story. Perfect seeing Rusty and Duncan working together and Rusty interacting with D261. Perfect way to give the diesel the name Bowler. Hopefully we get a follow up story where the diesel sees the error of his ways.
Such a fun episode and unlike the later writers who got everything wrong everyone here felt genuine especially Sir Toppam who genuinely cares about all the engines

Has a perfect classic era feel. Always appreciate seeing everyone well characterized. Minor nitpick: the bowler hat was sucked in his air *intake* not air tank, I believe. Though technically air tank could still be correct since that air intake port probably feeds both the engine and the air compressor, which would then pressurize the air tank.

This story was pretty good. The adaptation is spot on, the music fits and the narration is great. Great job.

This suddenly feels similar to a 1998 magazine story: Rusty & The Cheeky Boys; where one illustration shows Rusty and D261 together.
That image showcased Rusty pulling D261, and incorrectly depicted him as standard-gauge instead of narrow-gauge.

Great story idea, but I don't think I'd see the fat controller giving him a taunting sort of name. Well, maybe there could be a follow up where Bowler learns his lesson and redeems himself so he can be renamed.
This feels like a lost Season 4 episode. You're a better Miller than Sharon.

Hahahahaha! I KNEW that that Diesel would end up with the name Bowler!! Since technically, that IS already his name after what happened to him from that particular time. And served him right for what he did here to the others and Rusty.

Welp. The lesson "Bowler" learn must have been what goes around comes around. Why do I have a feeling that he's the type of engine that will never learn sense. lol Great job on this. I want to see more on the little railway. I feel like we never had the change to learn about them fully. Like Duke for a perfect example. what ever happened to him?

This would be a story between seasons 4 and 5.
It is a nice story that builds off from Bowler and how he gains the name. It was also nice to see Duncan had learnt not to be a bigot against Rusty and start becoming friends with him.
