Like this kind of video so much!! It’s very useful. Especially for second language learners, sometimes we know how to say it but the way we say may be rude to native speakers. We do need to learn how to express ourselves politely. Thanks, Mike.
Teacher, Mike. I once asked an American acquaintance whether he had a minute. And he replied: I do have the time, but I don’t have the energy. Is that polite, rude or what? Pls, help. Thank you.
Would you come to the party with me? Well, I will considerate it. Or Can I get back to you about that? Please, can you take care of my dog for a couple of days? I'll see what I can do Does someone have an idea about the new project? I'd like to run something by you. We have been working all day. Let's call it a day. Thank you so much for lending me your bike, my friend. I owe you one. Can you lend me fifty dollars? I'm afraid not. I just have ten. When your boss tells you "Can I have a word with you? You may be in a jam.

Sounds rude to me. "I don't want to waste my energy on you."😱
Also, it's not common. I've never heard anyone say that.
