Be aware, they have been VERY slow building my house. We signed contract a year ago to build a house in the Mirada development and 1 year later we are still at only 30% completion. I see how months goes by and the house is standstill and barely no progress since last August/2021. Very frustrating to deal with Maronda homes.
Supplies are hard to come by. I am building a home and supervising many aspects, and the supply chain is in terrible shape. Block and wood take weeks to get, and labor is in short supply. It's frustrating, for sure, but it is, unfortunately, part of today's world...
Their Models from early to mid 2000’s were so much more decorative and detailed. Very plain and boxy now. All the builders models look alike now with very basic linear vanilla look. The builder that brings back the decorative ledges; niches; cathedral ceilings; arched doorways; tropical design exteriors ect... will make a ton of money for those who prefer a true tropical Florida style.
Hello all be aware waiting for my house to be build a year ago now I signed the contract really bad Customer service two manager quit since than… I’m building in Ocala, FL I believe there about 10-12 files on completely hold…
Maronda Homes give you the run around. They take forever to build your home. Be careful make sure you are watching them build your home. They make many major mistakes. My friend is having a home built by them the home is a 5 bedroom home with 3 bathrooms. Plumber assume the home only had 2 bathrooms he plumed it for 2 and they poured the concrete slab. Then they had to break the concrete floor to fix the plumbing. My guess plumber didn't even bother to look at the plans, project manager is an idiot and the inspector who signed off on the plumbing is clueless aswell.
@sarahleeblanc8274 they took over 2 years to build my house so do I hate them as a builder. I sure fucking do. They suck! If you purchase a home from them you would be a hater too.
if you want homes built in Florida that can with stand winds, flooding, and hurricane or tornado's then you want a home built with ICF your home will with stand hurricanes, high winds, flooding and tornado's. Check ICF built homes out for youself.
I would think so. In the Caribbean, we have concrete homes and they withstand hurricanrs very well. The wooden structures and roof are usually what's affected. However, I think using hurricane straps to tie down the roof to the structure might help to keep the roof grounded.

They have very poor reviews about their quality and covering warranty issues. Many complaints on Consumer a Affairs and the BBB.
