Hi Claire, it is your professionalism and pride that was causing you to doubt yourself, but i think you will replay this case a couple of times wondering if you done enough. The important bit you said was that you done the obs and all OK, infected wound was assessed by doctor, if they thought any issues that may occur they would have sent to hospital but they didn't. You were unsure, seeked more advice so therefore yes you done as much as you could. it might be worth talking to the doctor that assessed and discuss concerns but i would say you done as much as you coud. Take care

Claire, you can only do you best, don’t doubt yourself. The important thing is you have spent that time with your patients providing then that care makes a massive difference to them. Love the dogs too. Enjoy your trip to see your Dad and good luck with the move

Hi Claire, I love your videos I have been binge-watching your university videos. On Tuesday when applications open I am applying for a Childrens nursing degree as a mature student. I have really been inspired by your videos, I was very worried about going back to education after such a long time out, but seeing how you did it shows me it is possible. Do you have any advice about what I should be doing in the meantime to prepare for interviews?

Monique aw that’s amazing!! Well done 👏🏻 huge good luck to you!
I did some vlogs about interviews and personal statements - they might help a lot ☺️ Also put the question into FB groups to see if anyone has had an interview recently at the uni you’re applying to :) that will help a lot too xx

You're an amazing person and an amazing nurse, please don't forget about it! Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us!

3 weeks yay!! How exciting! Don’t be put off by this, honestly. It’s not often these things happen :) I’ve had so many good times / days. But for some silly reason I always focus on that one little rare thing that happens 🙈

@@ClaireCarmichael I guess I feel ready - I'm the opposite way around to lots of students as I've already done an academic degree and taught English abroad for 15 years. The academic stuff doesn't stress me as much as the practical and emotional stuff will.

samacw Aw you’ll be fine! I was the same, I didn’t have any proper qualifications before, hadn’t been to college for years etc. But you’ll soon get into all that.
The emotions are hard, and you’ll absolutely have these bad days. But the good ones definitely outweigh the bad ones 💗🌻 xx

You did everything within your scope of practice. Primary care patients can be very unpredictable sometimes. I wouldn't beat yourself up. Easier said than done I know.

Hi Claire, I am a 1st yr student nurse awaiting my official start this month!!! I am also a spiritualist medium and approved spiritual healer under the spiritualists national union and I totally believe you when you say you can feel negative energies in your home. We (Hubby and I) once lived in a flat where so many crazy spiritual events happened.. Honestly though, for you now I would talk to whoever is there and just request that they stop sending out the negative feelings and stop frightening you! Close your eyes and send healing love and light to any spiritual energy there as they obviously need it. I hope that your upcoming move goes smoothly and don't beat yourself up over your patient. It wasn't your fault and just something that happened. Lots of healing love and light being sent to you lovely lady Xx p.s. Please say you will do videos on your primary care course? I want to go straight into GP nursing after i've graduated and love following your story xx

I will absolutely vlog all about the course too 💗🌻 I bet you can’t wait to get stuck in now with everything :) Do you know anyone on the course with you? Xx
