@Sonny Haskins design-wise there were some good ones, like this Brougham. But on the whole, the 70’s were a low point for quality, including Cadillac. GM in particular began cost cutting in the late 60’s, and continued this practice right into the ground. And it almost killed them, when import competition was strong, the economy was weak, and nobody was buying GM’s bean counter bullshit anymore.
I’ve always loved the ‘75-76 de Villes and Fleetwood Broughams!! Timeless elegance. What a great find you e got there!! I’d love to have this added to my insane collection!!! I’ll be internet-bidding on the FL Mecum Auction so it might end up becoming mine!
The only way to own and drive something like this is to live in Southern Florida on the coast.. Be over seventy years old. Also wear white loafers and a wide white belt. And don't forget to show up for the Early Bird Special which begins and ends around 4:00 PM. Be extra careful backing out of the parking lot.
1976 Fleetwood Brougham One of the best Cadillacs ever made, back then most popular color combo was the Red with white top and white interior. 1976 Sedan deville did not have the pillar in between side doors The Fleetwood had the leather vinyl padding roof which wrapped around rear glass window it was much more appealing than the sedan deville. Cadillac should duplicate this model in the future. I remember driving in one in the late 1970s sitting in back seat , It felt like you were floating on a cloud.
steve alexander You’re right about that D’elegance and the 1975 Talisman did have much more padding. The Talisman was made for the 1974/ 1975 model year only. The 1974 had the round headlights with square frame around headlight, The1975 introduced the square headlights which carried on for the 1976 model. The 1976 only had “Fleetwood Brougham” -Talisman 1976 did not have a d’elegance package. Fleetwood Talisman came with the crush velour seating, and more padding around rear glass window.
That interior is absolutely gorgeous. If I had that car,I would install a set of dual quiet mufflers with dual exhaust pipes running out the back. And leave the rest of the car in stock condition
Well that is just stunning for a car over 40 years old. The fact that it is all original except for the tires that was a year for the last of the GM FULL size car in all its splendor. Everything on that Cadillac is just unbelievable and I'm sure that if you drove it it would be as quiet as can be. Now best of all, THAT'S a CADILLAC!! Its like that could have been the big deal of the day on LMAD behind door number 3.
I thought I heard him say "nice little car". And I'm not the only one either. I had a 1972 Chrysler Newport, four door sedan. It wasn't quite as big as this car, but it was still huge. I called "Mabel" my two bedroom sedan; my four wheel barge.
We had this exact car, except no leather. I would love to buy it. I couldn't imagine mom's face with that car pulling into the driveway. It would blow her away.
My father had a green buick Electra 225 with white convertible top. Car drove so smooth it was like floating on air. I forget the year. May have been a 76-77.
@@luvbig41 My 1st brand new car was a '76 Buick Electra 225 Landau coupe. Astroroof, chrome wheels, Vogue tyres, power everything. Fiberoptic lamp monitors, brushed moldings, cornering lamps, pewter gray & maroon interior (vinyl). But, growing up w/dad's Buick Rivieras I recall the FINAL convertible was in '75. A Buick Lesabre. So, maybe that's what your dad had. It also had a magic carpet ride. The '70s were the last of true BUICKS. I penny PINCHED my way to my Electra, back then a lil over $9k.
Ener Rivers I would have killed for your car! Man, those were beautiful rides. Especially that two door with the landau and moonroof. Epitome of luxury- just like this Caddy.
Ener Rivers I also had a 1996 Fleetwood Brougham. I bought a new house shortly after, and told the owner that I didn’t think my car would fit in the garage. He laughed, and pointed to his Suburban, and said that if this fits, any car in the world will fit. Well, it fit, but with only about an inch to spare. My Cadillac was 5 1/2 inches longer than his Suburban. In fact, I think it was 225 inches long, which made me wonder if that’s how the Electra got that 225 name?
This car was remarkably well taken care of to be sure. GM quality was about as low as it ever was in ‘76. The first year with rectangular headlights was epic to me.
1976 Fleetwood they don't make those anymore hard vehicle good condition awesome video friend happy new year 2020 seats like brand new insurance be cheap
Thats one of the best cadillacs made for sure. However, it should idle smoother than that, looks like its jumping around a bit - watch the wires in video, sounds like a cylinder is missing. These old cars only had up to 100,000 mile odometer then it rolled over again to 0 so it could have 119K miles and read 19k. With 19k miles on it, that engine should idle perfectly smooth.
Great car!! I like that bluish silver, perfect chrome, and some of the dash designs, along with those rear seat foot rests, but I still prefer my 79' Lincoln Continental with the two tone silver paint and red pinstripe along with burgundy red interior.

GM in particular began cost cutting in the late 60’s, and continued this practice right into the ground. And it almost killed them, when import competition was strong, the economy was weak, and nobody was buying GM’s bean counter bullshit anymore.
I drive nothing but caddi's and that's a nice classic
LOVE 70s CAD stepfather had 69 - 73 a lot of good times in both use to take on date's GREAT GREAT car's
Truly the Rolls-Royce of motor cars.
1976 Fleetwood Brougham
One of the best Cadillacs ever made, back then most popular color combo was the Red with white top and white interior.
1976 Sedan deville did not have the pillar in between side doors
The Fleetwood had the leather vinyl padding roof which wrapped around rear glass window it was much more appealing than the sedan deville.
Cadillac should duplicate this model in the future. I remember driving in one in the late 1970s sitting in back seat , It felt like you were floating on a cloud.
The base fleetwood roof was not padded all that much. The D'Elegance and Talisman were more padded.
steve alexander
You’re right about that
D’elegance and the 1975 Talisman did have much more padding.
Back in the 70's when I was a kid growing up in Michigan if your parents had one of these yall was the shit.
Looks more luxurious and modern than modern cars...
And lots of space for hybrid upgrade too...
Better read my first comment there, Bubba. You don't want to mess with the car gods.
A hybrid upgrade? LOL...is this going to be the new customization trend among hipsters?
Rides much better than any new car. It's heavy already; don't need any extra batteries.
What a jewel! Wish we still built "The Standard of the World"
Beautiful, last year for the big one. like floating on a cloud.
Beautiful craftsmanship
'75/'76 are cool clean design and you can still catch tailfins if you look close.
Back when Detroit made cars!
What a beauty!
WOW that Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham very Nice luxury car. My favority car all time.
The 73-76 deVilles.... were the original KING OFTHE ROADS!!! Damn this is beautiful!!!!!
lol don't forget the dorados I had 2 75's
I thought I heard him say "nice little car". And I'm not the only one either. I had a 1972 Chrysler Newport, four door sedan. It wasn't quite as big as this car, but it was still huge. I called "Mabel" my two bedroom sedan; my four wheel barge.
CLASS! That's all I gotta say. Wish we had em like that again.
Plastic computers on wheels is what we get these days.
My parents had seats like these in our parlor / living room, but certainly not in our car... :-D
We had this exact car, except no leather. I would love to buy it. I couldn't imagine mom's face with that car pulling into the driveway. It would blow her away.
With the velour? Forget about it!
@@Broadway30062009 My parents '83 Fleetwood had velour... Didn't know the 1976 version did.
Back when Cadillacs were Cadillacs.
Family had one too, it was De Elegance version, had cranberry colored velour interior. Silver was referred to as Freshly Minted addition.
Gorgeous Cadillac, thanks for the video!
Mann!!!!!!! What a beautiful car.
Beautiful, it was also the LONGEST car made in '76, after was Buick Electra.
@@jananney bet he sold you the house afterwards.
Американский корабль для дорог, прекраснейшая машина, обожаю олдскульные машины!!!
This is "What a Cadillac should be".
This car was remarkably well taken care of to be sure. GM quality was about as low as it ever was in ‘76. The first year with rectangular headlights was epic to me.
A. Marvin Causey 1975 was the first year for rectangular headlamps on the Caddies.
Mel Rose - Thanks for the correction. Learn something every day. Guess I was basing that on the Cutlass & Grand Prix.
Man brings bk memories my dad had a green 1 my brother had a red and white 2 door and I had 76 Seville straight pimpz 4 life
I STILL remember Grandpa having a similar car to this....
Just picked up a 69 fleetwood, beautiful cars!
The last real American luxury car. There has never been one since, nor will there ever be.
Todd McDurmont Lincoln town car was very nice
MY goodness! You could stack bodies in that trunk wholesale.
Tony montana aka SCARFACE may have stacked a few bodies in the trunk of a Cadillac
yes you can stack 3000cats in it
Spectacular,Cadillac need to release a car like that to survive
That is a beautiful car, the condition is amazing
I agree its still TOP of the Line.
glad I got the 76 2-door convertible El Dorado.
That sedan looks HUGE!
I bet you that baby got an 8 track tape player inside of it. I love the old classic cars from the legendary 1970's. My kind of automobile.
My favorite car in the world...
Nice car. someone will be lucky to own it.
Great car!! I like that bluish silver, perfect chrome, and some of the dash designs, along with those rear seat foot rests, but I still prefer my 79' Lincoln Continental with the two tone silver paint and red pinstripe along with burgundy red interior.
That's a car! We had a big Cadillac that was diesel. Was like a tank on a cloud.
Now thats a true land yacht
Back when a caddy was a caddy..makes my heart Beat faster
The sexy car that needs a 10% larger parking spot than a Chevy Suburban.
One of the coolest cars ever legit!
Leather luxury was and is still the best judge for design and comfort!
