    My mother had severe dementia - and towards the end of her life, we just communicated soul to soul, heart to heart . . . She could no longer talk, but I knew what she was communicating. The months leading up to her death was one of the most beautiful times we spent together - and lingers now beyond the physical.

      I just learned that my mother has mid-stage Lewy Body Dementia. She still drops in and out of cognitive alertness, but she mostly doesn’t know who we are anymore; she is slipping away before my eyes. And there has been so much pain and misunderstanding over my 60+ years with her that I always thought we would resolve with age and wisdom. Now I don’t know what to do, how to do it, or even what to hope for. She was miserable being the mother of 4 and resented the sacrifices she felt she made for us. I was determined to be a better mother, and I keep trying, but all in all, I am a far worse mother than she ever was. It’s all so confusing and the most ironic part is that when she is clear, I see flashes of insight, an understanding and sadness on her part - sometimes. I don’t want to miss any part of her as she disappears, but I don’t know how.

      @@InSouthernMaine I relate to everything you have said. When my mother's ego dissolved with her dementia - then our world's opened up. It wasn't until that happened. I had similar issues with her as you described above. My mother did, however, struggle with feelings of regret though she couldn't communicate that. But I told her over and over again, "Mom, you and I are fine. There is nothing between us but love. Nothing more to forgive." Sometimes she understood - other times she staired blankly at the floor. You can't change what is happening to her - just be present and love her just as she is. Time for "what ifs" later.... if necessary. Just Be.

      @@scottjossfan624 Thank you for sharing your experience - I really mean that. It's very hard to know how to accept all of it; the loss is overwhelming. But I truly am grateful to be able to experience at least some of my mother's best parts without fearing the usual backlash. There are so many years of miscommunication and hurt and resentment that I'm desperately trying to dissipate it while she still has lucid moments. Thank you for being an example of what - or who - I most hope to be.

    The later advice about finding a solution to social media is something we can apply on to ANY problem and I'd say it is probably what "being present" is all about... When faced with an issue just meditate and be as calm as possible and the answer will come through either meditation (if we have a lot of time and perhaps also contemplation and discussion but in more urgent matter just taking a breath is more essential...
    I really needed the later advice because although I am very much physically and financially safe I am currently facing some inner questions on what to do to move forward... So I was reminded that I can move on by staying calm mediating and "the answer" will come

How wonderful you have learnt your mother tongue and you and your parents can communicate at a “ deeper level”.. /connect at a spiritual level.

    Thank you dear sweet Eckhart ❤It's all an illusion and as long as we live in our minds/egos it's freaking unbearable! Trapped in the illusion of consent thoughts ... But I've found some truths i can share that works for myself. I try to separate myself from thoughts by simply saying, "That's a thoughts .. Look at all those thoughts etc" Not believing every thought. To simply be the observer of each thought.
    I try to meditate just 5 min each morning and just focus on my breathing and quickly thoughts will start, so I'll gently bring it back to my breathing. The MOMENT I realize I'm back to thoughts I'm the observer! There's the real "me", the observer, my soul and the crazy, upset, unhappy ego!
    But unfortunately suffering is necessary to motivate us to go through this process.
    Even though this 5 min is a quick easy way to get out of the unhappy ego/mind and to find some freaking peace in this crazy world, it's still the hardest thing I've ever done! You've got to want it bad and realize the ego is a frighten child that doesn't want to let go ... To let go and let this shift in consciousness happen ...
    But it's exciting that so many are seeking for a deeper meaning all over the world! And thanks to dear Eckhart Tolle is (A true living spiritual master) many are finding this truth! Thank you 🎶 ❤ 🎶

      @user-cx5ct6xs3q 4 місяці тому

      Hey, let me speek on behalf of Eckhart: There should be no force involved in "letting it go" there should also be no force involved in doing meditation. its rather a concept of "understanding". Meditation should be done with a clear mind, otherwise its still towards the process of a clear mind. I myself know this, but I still struggle with the same things that you do. I have talked to many Monks and its okay if its not that easy. They all had a hard time first. But they all told me its worth it in the end and that you gradually will get more and more aware of that deepness and your meditations will be better and better.

    • @sesamfan8850
      @sesamfan8850 4 місяці тому +1

      I absolutely resonate to that. And am going through the same thing. Always trying an trying again to gain more clarity in my mind, to seperate my being from my thoughts, to build up routine in meditation - and then losing it for a while and then start again. I am living in that circle and sometime I think I don't progress in any way, but that is an illusion. Live is getting deeper and more beautiful with every little bit of consciousness gained.

    • @recordgirly2567
      @recordgirly2567 4 місяці тому +1

      @@sesamfan8850 that's beautiful! I love the part where you feel like you're going in circles but realize that's your mind playing tricks to keep you from continuing with meditation! The mind is so very clever and tricky. I found that when I'm making progress my mind goes extra crazy. So when that happens I actually talk with my ego/mind and make a deal! You're not going anyway, in fact I need you to make all this happen! I can't speak or function in this world without you but aren't you tired? Can you relax and let me run the show? Be quiet and smaller and then we can melt together into the very reason for our existence .. To become one!

    I agree, words and language only distort and lessens what we already innately know on a conscious level. For example, I feed lots of crows every single day, and one very special crow perches on me window and it takes the pieces of cheese out of my hand. He's been coming round for the past 2 years now, and I have gotten to know him very well. I've never given the crow a name, yet if I did, I'd call him Russell, as in ( Russell Crow! ) lol. Anyways, I don't speak to him much either because that's only conceptualizing things and I prefer not to do that. Hence I've tried feeding it all kinds of food, and whatever he doesn't like he will just flick it away, and whatever he does like, he'll eat. I rolled a piece of bread into a little ball one day and he liked it, but then I gave him a square piece and he flicked it away. So now I know he likes his bread rolled into little balls, lol. Thus, I do roll about ten balls of bread in me hand and then feed him them one by one, and he stores them all down his throat and in his beak and they look like a row of pellets in a bee bee gun. He then flys away and stashes a bunch of them for later on that evening for his supper or the next morning for breakfast. But sometimes he returns to his hiding spot only to find that another crow has stolen his stash, lol. Anyhow, it's amazing to be able to understand another living spirit beyond mere words or language. Thanks for this Eckhart🙏

    Do you know why having an actual book in front of you is so much better than a screen? A book is tangible, there's a comforting feeling when you turn the pages of a book, especially if it is an old, worn book, and finally, there's a *presence* about a book and holding a book brings one into the Present. A screen feels too remote.

    I find that english works better for me than my native language - which is danish and as such quite a narrow languagearea. English is really good I think. especially as the videos are in english - you get confused reading about the same things in another language I think. So I think it is a matter of practise.
