Thanks I'll keep it going and maybe I can retire someday too - I'll be 52 soon. Headed to Siem Reap tomorrow so stay tuned for a sort of expat review of the city there.
@FollowBrando while you're there could you check out hotels with long term deals on stays [ month to month ] And do a review on pub street I'm Irish 🇮🇪 I like a drink 😆
@@MaximusByrne-ri4jf Have a look at the reddit thread for expats in Siem Reap. I will only be there a few days, so in the video I'm going to quote other expats about renatl rates. But pub street is on my list for tormorrow night. If you post a question on reddit, you might get a local agent replying in the thread.
Hey Brando thanx again for another great video . Looks like your getting more subscribers too with your interesting stories. You have a real gift for gab bro!
Great stuff man..When I was in Phnom Penh about a month ago.I was told about a local casino close to the Mekong River..I was warned never to go there. They said if you owe a debt that you can't pay the Chinese will keep you..Not that I gamble..I was told this by some guys that I know that was pretending to be regular tourists...Americans that spoke fluent Khmer "Hmmm"
Great videos and info Brando! Did they guys in PP snatch your phone while riding by or stop and take it with the threat of violence? I'll be in PP in February and will keep my camera and phone discete. Thanks Keep up the good work 👏
Just keep your wits about you, anywhere...I was in Phnom Penh late last year, wee small hours , at a night club...drunk....asked a guy behind the bar for the Wifi...he tried to snatch my phone...even very drunk me just tightened my grip on the phone, staring at the guy at the same time, like " what the hell are you trying to do, pal?"....kept the phone..because poor boy was not very strong...left pronto after that. Cambodia is still a very safe place...safer than many other countries...just be careful.
Interesting. I didn't see it when I visited Phuket a few years back. I'll be there in April and put it in the content. I am going to drop a sort of Fit at 50 video soon, I'm about a week away from finishing an annual routine where I get a bit shredded. For my age anyway. Thanks for the support!
@@robertsaxon2383 Good to hear. I'll be doing some fitness stuff once in a while. If I can get one or two expats back in shape it will be worth it, even if the videos aren't popular. Stay tuned.
@FollowBrando well I'm 48 like to stay in shape but enjoy the good life too . Hopefully there are other blokes like me on here mate 👍 cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I decided to live somewhere in SEA at least while I have steady remote work. I benefit from the paycheck arbitrage - the US income and the Cambodian cost of living. I didn't find a place I liked in Central or South America.
Somebody told me once Vietnam isn’t a communist country it’s a mafia country Sure seems that way down on Boi Veen , I don’t know how the police can sit in the middle of all that debauchery and not see anything ? They would have to be criminally unobservant . On a side note never been to Cambodia but every video I see the streets are full of 1999 to 2003 Lexus RX SUVs and almost all are silver coloured.? Would be a interesting story on how so many ended up there . They weren’t all used cars from Japan because the steering is on the left side ,just curious it’s not a model you ever see across the border in Vietnam
That TRIPPED me out when I crossed the border into Cambodia - the silver/gold Lexus RX was everywhere along with the Toyota version, RAV 4 I think. And the Prius - all gold and silver. I'll get to the bottom of that someday. And yeah, Vietnam is a mafia country and the drugs stop becoming legal about 200 meters from Bui Vien. Strange...
Yeah and the Prius , I figure if you live there a used Lexus RX would be the best solution probably cheap and every mechanic can work on them and parts plentiful. 2000 Lexus RX is the Honda 50 cub of Cambodia
You provide content that is not typical of other channels, keep it up. Oh, and digress more, that was very intersting ... oh, and if you are going to go into Anthony Bourdain mode stay away from women named Asia or staying in the same hotel as Adam Schiff 😛
Thanks I'm hoping that doing this my own way works out. And yeah, I'll stop short of copying his choice of women and just lift the tv show style. Appreciate the support 🙏

I've had a few flare ups like that. But yeah, they're arent too strong here so the threat of real physical violence is minimal.
Quiet roads perfect for walking…
Kampot is pretty great for walking. Freah air. Big riverside promenade. Just beware of the dogs!
