The motorbikes are very normal and very thankfull for them, they do reduce the congestive traffic. I do the same in Australia. In Bangkok and throughout Asia they are so normal and really have priority over the cars & trucks, motorbikes form up at the front of other traffic at lighted intersections, it's like a GP start as the 20 to 40 motorbikes green light. I love it, the only way to get through the Jambed up traffick snails in the big cities of the world. Saves huge amounts of gasoline too. No 2 stroke oil burners now.
It's only the MacMaster, Lee lovely to meet you on your last night in Beni going for your cheeky Chinese. We have just got back and catching up on your journey home (feels like your still on it). Here’s a question.. [EV charging point always empty at the French services]. “Did you see many EVs driving on the road ?” If the French are refusing the use the toll motorways that might explain why all of the chargers are always free. Makes you wonder what the charging stations are like on their public roads 🤔
Right hand drive countries include the UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Fiji, Samoa, Malta, Cyprus, Singapore, Bahamas, West Indies, Pakistan, Kenya, Solomon Islands, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and quite a few more. I think it is about 67 countries in total and roughly 35% of the world's population.
We've definitely gone backwards. 15 years ago, an Audi A8 could go from London to Edinburgh and back again on one tank of diesel. Today, an EV would struggle to get across London on a full charge.

Lee, even though you made a mistake by driving on the wrong side of the road pulling out of that charge station, I am STILL amazed that you adjust beautifully to the correct side of the road in France and Spain. Being a UK driver, I'm sure it's difficult to adjust your brain. Driving on the left comes from when most people got around on horses as the majority of people are right handed its easier to get on a horse from the left side
Regarding brits learning other languages. Most of Europe learn English and we'd have to learn numerous languages. I was once in Spain and heard a German man speaking to a Frenchman in English, the Frenchman couldn't speak German and vice versa.
I phoned home from a call box in Spain. Some guy answered. I asked if he could hear me, he said yes. Is that Tony? He said, “No.” I asked where he was and he replied, “Norway.” I asked why he was speaking English. He said, “Because you are.”
Thank you for sharing this with us . I have so enjoyed every minute of your journey to Benidorm and back it has been one hell of a journey . but loved it thanks hun xxx❤x
I had issues refuelling my petrol car the other day... there was another car at the pump... it took 30 seconds until i could refuel... and then i was fuelled up in less than 3 minutes... plus i didn't spend any extra on anything edible... OR muckdonalds. Phew, it was a long refuel... 😂 keep em coming mcmaster.
I had a different kind of problem. The pump was on the wrong side of my car and it was one of those old pumps with really short pump cables, so I was forced to reverse into the bay to refuel. Nah, just joking. I just waited a few moments for a pump on the right side to become available so I could plug the cable into my car.
@jfletcher1029 what I would add is I'll never use the euro tunnel... £600 to repair alloys each trip is too much and there is no way I'd rub a charging cable over paintwork... I'd need a respray after each charge. I carry a full polish kit in car in case of bird droppings, etc. The washer fluid is still the original from when I bought the car, never used it. Never taken out if 1% chance of rain...
@@billyskoda6839 Yes. Joking aside, I'd never drag a pump hose over my paintwork to refuel. The retractable ones at some Esso's are better but still unwieldy to drag to the other side of the car. I'd rather wait for a suitable pump to become available.
Hi Mac, I love the channel, Totally agree with your comment on your playlist featuring Wet Wet Wet touring again without! Martin Pellow 😟 By the way I'm a proud owner of a Citroën xsara Picasso 2 litre HDi Diesel 😊 which I've owned for 10 years and has done 150k no issues 400mls easy on a full tank 😊 Anyway back to the point, I went to a music festival a few years back in which the Wets were the final act on. I was determined to stay to the end after numerous beers etc to hear one of my favourite bands play live. Needless to say I was totally gutted when they took to the stage minus Marti Pellow. It's not right! Give us what we love and remember! Anyway Rant over. A you would say Onwards 😂😂
Edit: found the thing I'd add. At 35:54 about lane positions. If anyone were to ask me what to do when driving abroad I'd tell them to use a hire car. It's cheaper and built for the road in the country. Now is it difficult to drive an RHD in a left hand drive country? I don't think it is. But I'd suggest folk do themselves a favour and just use a hire car as you're better seated to drive safely then. Got nothing to add here really other than I kinda like the Hyundai Ionic. But I genuinely can't tell if that one was the same model I looked at years back when I was window shopping at EVs for a laugh. All personal taste and all that (and it's got more charm than a Tesla). Best thing about all these care being the same lump on wheels is how you can somewhat make it your own thing. I kinda see them as a blank canvas to do whatever with. That said the new Defender doesn't look right, it should look like a box on wheels and not whatever this modern rubbish is.
41:56… rude French people in Paris… Tony Hawke the TV comedian panellist/ presenter moved his family to a little village out in the French country side. When they arrived The village arranged for a get together in the village hall to welcome him and his family. He asked them what they thought of an English family moving into their loverly little village and they relied… “could be worse, …. you could have been Parisians”
A friend was in a car in a village in Brittany when he bumped the rear of the car ahead. The driver got out and remonstrated with him. Some villagers at the cafe nearby came over and agreed the Englishman was at fault. Then they spotted the Parisian plates on the other car and rounded on that driver.
Lee, I wouldn't do that journey if you paid me. What a nightmare. I'll tell you this. Like you I've traveled a lot when younger. I know we moan about the UK, but there's nothing like it. For me, it's civilised and I love my home. Always glad to be back. 🙂🇬🇧🏴
Lee you and Geoff should do a road trip to Monaco. Stay in the casino, drive the F1 circuit, see how many of these super cars and show us some very posh food. 👍😁
Lee , I’ve got a very bad infection and it all stems from my stone that’s dropping lower down from my kidney in To my tubes so pain full, but just managed to catch all the last videos and one to go, cheer’s me up abit, fabulous.
Back in the 70's I drove from the North East of England to the south of France for a family holiday. No Satnav then, the route had to be planned out using road maps. Getting through Paris was the big test.
Lee there's around 80 countries that drive on the left side of the road like the UK. So around a third of the world. The other two thirds drive on the right like France and the US. There is a good reason why we drive on the left and it pre-dates motor cars themselves. We drive on the left because most people are right handed and in the time of knights there was a chance of being attacked whilst travelling and so people liked to ride their horse to the left to keep their sword arm (right arm for most people) free just in case they were attacked by someone coming from the opposite direction. So by the time motor cars came along we had been travelling on the left for hundreds of years so it was just natural to stay that way. The French however travel on the right because apparently Napoleon preferred to travel on the right. Hitler also preferred to travel on the right and forced a couple of countries the Nazis invaded to switch from driving to the left to driving on the right. You will find today that the vast majority of countries that drive on the left like the UK are former British empire colonies around the world though this is not always the case.
Thanks Lee, great to see the reality of a European road trip, expect the costs inc tolls exc to be high. Looks like a flight is the best option. Keep up the brilliant content.
I think you’ll find that avoiding the French Auto Route system and using the Route National toll free routes….you will arrive at your destination stress free and with funds for cheaper accommodation…. Also using a Volvo V50 helps a great deal…. Ask Geoff buys cars for his opinion……sweet dreams.
Excellent video again my friend.Great entertainment for a Saturday night.Well done.Perhaps your next driving playlist should include Message in a bottle by The Police! Take care, safe journey.

I have enjoyed your trip down to Spain and trip back to the UK video's as much as I did your Australan trip video's Lee. Thanks for creating and posting them.
38:46 Back in the 1920s, Austria actually had left-hand driving AND right-hand driving, depending on which state you were driving in. Everyone, surely, has heard of the big switchover to right-hand driving in Sweden on 3 September 1967.
And if you're vegetarian as well, the food stops would probably need to be a different location to the charge station. They have to forage for food similar to foraging for charge stations
TCR lane changers was brilliant when it worked but sadly I kept burning out the electric motors so my Christmas present had to be exchanged for something else. I remember that Top Gear episode where Jeremy drove from Edinburgh to London in an Audi A8. Great achievement. Some of the Chinese EV's actually look very nice, such as the new MG sports car, the problem is that they are electric. If they were full hybrids then that would be great. Love the Renault designs at the moment, especially the Megan and Austral. Love your banter Lee and nothing offensive ever comes out of your mouth. Your a breath of fresh air in this stiff and oversensitive world of ours. Keep up the great work. 👍😊 33:45
I've finally figured out why charging cables are so short. It's because EVangelists believe 80 miles is 300 miles.

The one good thing about traffic in Paris is sitting watching all the cars fighting to get round the Arc De Triomphe! Very entertaining and it's free! 😅👍
Driving on the left comes from when most people got around on horses as the majority of people are right handed its easier to get on a horse from the left side
I’ve never known anyone be that excited to return to the UK
Like you said earlier Waze is legal in France as they just say ‘police ahead'. It’s just actual radar detectors that are banned.
Yes Hun we have gone backwards with everything xxx❤
Shouldn't worry about driving on any side of the road when the reset is done no ucker will be driving anywhere.
Thank goodness the real Macmaster reappeared in Paris. Nowt better than a good rant. ❤😂
Yes, Lee, people still use paper maps; I've never yet used sat-nav - ever - and enjoy navigating by map.
Brilliant Thankyou Lee.❤️
The time now is 815 . in morn 4 27 xxxx❤you do look very refreshed xx
163 countries drive on the right and 76 on the left. My old paper licence allowed me to drive in the middle….. It said “tear down the dotted line!”
Reminds me of being in Cornwall, when I swear the gps voice said, “Go three miles on Tear Arse Road.”
One thing old ways such as maps all ways work unlike modern tech can't trust it😊
That did shake you up a bit . you could see it in your face xxx❤
It was lucky you had a number 1 in the car and not a number 2
All in all, I thought the car did bloody well. Never missed a beat.
41:56… rude French people in Paris…
Tony Hawke the TV comedian panellist/ presenter moved his family to a little village out in the French country side.
When they arrived The village arranged for a get together in the village hall to welcome him and his family.
He asked them what they thought of an English family moving into their loverly little village and they relied…
“could be worse, …. you could have been Parisians”
Fish and chips is healthy only if cooked in beef tallow.
Lee you and Geoff should do a road trip to Monaco. Stay in the casino, drive the F1 circuit, see how many of these super cars and show us some very posh food. 👍😁
Yes Lee the reason why yhe motorways are more open is the French and Spanish won't pay to go on them they use other roads
You play so great music in your videos 👍
75 Countries are Left Hand Drive. 165 are Right Hand Drive.
Yes.. right hand drive wins.. we all know that is the correct side anyway 😂🇺🇸
@@Stefano1475 That's why it's called the "RIGHT" side......LMAO Cheers
Lee , I’ve got a very bad infection and it all stems from my stone that’s dropping lower down from my kidney in To my tubes so pain full, but just managed to catch all the last videos and one to go, cheer’s me up abit, fabulous.
Get well soon ❤️
Thanks Lee ❤
Hey Lee, you and Geoff had a lovers tiff or something, misse the banter of you 2 on the wsy back.😢
Jeff left earlier Lee said he has family in Spain so all good the bromance is OK 👍
LOL, lots of people asking. He's been with his family in Fuengerola.
Thought he was doing a family trip😂 round Spain.
Love the videos
Back in the 70's I drove from the North East of England to the south of France for a family holiday.
No Satnav then, the route had to be planned out using road maps. Getting through Paris was the big test.
Jeremy Clarkson drove a Jaguar XJ6 on a tank of petrol from London to Edinburgh and back, and still had fuel in the tank
He drove an Audi A8 to Edinburgh the jag was from Basel to Blackpool. I watch top gear a lot so I know that one
Perhaps EV cables are short because EVangelists think that 2 inches are 9 inches.
Very enjoyable videos of your road trip, loved every minute! Can't wait til you come over to Australia and drive the Nullarbor 😁
You can lane split in France, and drivers respect the bikes more and will open up the lanes to let you pass . The Uk always the opposite! 🤷🏼♂️
Leave the bottle of Fanta at a charger for the Tesla drivers.
Lee you are safe please don't worry we all make mistakes no harm been done
This may be the last time you be allowed to take a EV on a ferry because of the fire risk.
The plastic tops of pringles can be used for dog/cat food tins, etc to keep contents fresh
76 countries drive on the left side of the road and Google says that 163 countries drive on the right side
Mac before Australia you gotta do Italy and around Lake Como and the Alps ,Stunning .Great content . Thx👍
GB / UK
It was a decision because we were "Great Britain & Northern Ireland", so UK was properly inclusive as "United Kingdom".
Contrary to the other 'Morags' - it's nothing to do with Brexit!!
Great vid Lee....looks like you had it easy.!...GBC did the hard trip back home..(nice scenery..ice cream..weather..great car.)......well done lads....oh loved the 4 wheel skinny cars.
There are two types of motorcyclists, those that have crashed, and those that are going to crash.
spot on m8
my son wanted a bike some years ago
I said ok
but
I need to beat you with my cricket bat in the garden
then you can borrow my Montessa 350 cc off roader
he said why
I replied you need to get the feel of bouncing down the road at about 40 miles an hour
he got my point
he started car driving lessons
stayed with his mountain bike for another year
I still ride with care [no elec bike though] my Yamaha
wind in the hair stuff
our generation
I have enjoyed your trip down to Spain and trip back to the UK video's as much as I did your Australan trip video's Lee. Thanks for creating and posting them.
Why would a person who can afford a EV stay in a budget hotel?
Why on earth not? You don't accumulate money by chucking it away.
38:46 Back in the 1920s, Austria actually had left-hand driving AND right-hand driving, depending on which state you were driving in. Everyone, surely, has heard of the big switchover to right-hand driving in Sweden on 3 September 1967.
Maybe when petrol is banned the dinghies will stop as an ev engine won't have the range to get across the channel lol
👍
Absolute brilliant
😅GB,Tommy,Tommy,Tommy.
Great video Lee....Bloody French frogs had me rolling 🤣
roughly one third of the world's population drive on the correct side of the road, and two thirds drive on the wrong side...
Very good. Well done.
How can you enjoy a road trip, when your only thought is planning your next charge.
And if you're vegetarian as well, the food stops would probably need to be a different location to the charge station. They have to forage for food similar to foraging for charge stations
Lee is a great content creator 👍❤️
People in towns are more stressed and unhappy. They can't help it. They live like chickens in a coop.
That charge in Paris is for local people, there was nothing there for you.
