This ending freaked me out as a kid, I had chills when I read "the truth behind the incident never came to light". Kazuya is my favorite Tekken character.
Oliver Landjergue I think it's cause of the stages. Tekken 4's stages look like they would be utterly amazing remastered in current gen graphics and those stages are like the best they ever created for Tekken lol
@@l8nightvibes probably in Tekken 4 Jin have unblockable moves who make him OP, and speaking about Jin (in Tekken 4) who change his moveset to traditional karate probably because of Kazuya was already have it in since first series, so I think if Jin use same moveset as Kazuya it would be boring, that's why the dev use "Heihachi's betrayal" issue to make Jin use his new moveset (IMO)
I remember the Arcade installation of this in early 2000s, coming from Tekken3 it seemed impressive, and it is. A very curated, darkish Tekken with not many character. And with a Kazuya as most cool character!
Same but!!! I didn't know who Kazuya was and when I saw him more often It reminded me to that intro of tekken 3 were Jun and Kazuya are in picture before he punches the ogre
Used to play this when I was so little. Maybe like 5-7 yrs old. The narrators voice was so perfect for background story telling. Forever a Kazuya fan 😤
Ahh when i was 6 yrs Old i played tekken 3 and tekken 3 is for me most nostalgic but i played tekken 4 when i was 10 or 11 yrs Old when i got ps2 and the graphics was stunning
Same here. The Tekken games were the first games I played around 4-7 years old. I remember playing Tag, 4 and 5 back to back before the 6th game was out
Yeah. So unexpected. Imagine being a kid back then, playing this for the first time in the dead of night. Tekken 1 thru 4 (including tag) used to have an eerie undertone, miss it and wish it was still present in the current series.
@9:47 We reach stage 7 which was supoosed to be his sub boss fight against Jin. 9:53 Brief Kazuya cutscene where he's standing in the Laboratory stage alone folding his arms then glaring over his right shoulder. We see the glare because he's wearing his P1 outfit in this playthrough. 10:00 Kazuya page: This declared Kazuya the winner of Round 7 by default. Due to the absence of Jin. But Kazuya sensed Heihachi's hand in Jin being a no-show. 10:28 Kazuya fights Heihachi as his stage 8 mid boss. 10:33 Kazuya's interlude against Heihachi. Takes place in the Arena stage. Lines spoken: Kazuya: "What did you do with Jin Kazama?" Heihachi: "Ha, I'll tell you after the fight." 12:03 Kazuya's other interlude. Heihachi bows down in defeat. Just as the announcer declares Kazuya the winner. Kazuya: "Now, take me to him as promised." 12:32 Part 1 of Kazuya's ending which doubles as his interlude against Jin. This takes place in the stage Hon Maru. 15:21 Kazuya fights Jin as his stage 9 boss. Serving as his final boss. He's one of the few characters in this game's roster to not fight Heihachi as his final boss in his Story Mode.
Another few pieces of Tekken 4 trivia regarding Kazuya Mishima: Him and Jin are the only characters that can be played as in the Hon Maru stage during Story Mode playthroughs. Their sub boss fights consist of the only times this stage appears in Story Mode. His ending takes place in the Hon Maru stage.
All to much, this was my first tekken, been playing TTT2 recently and having an amazing fun time with it, now I just wanna play Tekken 7, it looks AMAZING
They really need to get back to this style of writing for story in Tekken. Some of the endings are ultimately a little corny but the prologue and epilogue writing was top tier, every character has solid motivation to enter the tournament.
Poor Kazuya, his asshole father threw him off a cliff when he was just five years old. Then he survived, became an undefeated champion in several martial arts tournaments for the next 25 years, he wanted revenge against Heihachi, won the first king of iron fist tournament, then afterwards picked up his father and threw him into a volcano. He became the owner of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Two years later, Heihachi somehow survived, defeated Kazuya, threw him again into the mouth of a volcano! And took back the Mishima Zaibatsu. I feel bad for what Kazuya has been through..
Heihachi threw Kazuya as a child off a cliff, not into a volcano. Kazuya did the same to Heihachi. The only volcano involved was when Heihachi threw Kazuya again as an adult (Tekken 2).
Unpopular opinion here, but Tekken 4 is the best game in the franchise. It had a good story, well designed stages and a short, but diverse roster. Tekken needs another game like this, I much prefer quality over quantity.
@Malcolm Williams tekken 5 has similar gameplay style to tekken 3 so it’s not really a wrong direction it’s because more people prefer that style over tekken 4 which was innovative but it had so many flaws in the gameplay department that it’s considered inferior to tekken 3 I feel tekken 5 felt like the prime tekken game.
@Malcolm Williams tekken 5 is far from easy jinpachi is one of the hardest tekken boss and you need skills to beat your opponent rather then spamming the same move it’s way more balanced than tekken 4 jin is easily the most broken character in the game it’s very polarizing and it’s considered disappointment according to the fan base.
@Malcolm Williams no offense but gotta disagree with you tekken 5 is the game that brought back original trilogy roots even tekken old heads like tekken 5
The graphics remain loyal to the artwork in the most fitting way. Its like their anime models transfromed to 3D characters with the exact combination of human gesture that they needed. Its hard to explain
Tekken 4 is the best game in the entire franchise. It had the best story. Especially Kazuya's story was profound, him getting rid of Devil but absorbing all of his powers by discovering a mental technique and taking advantage of Devil being distracted. Also, the scientific view of the Devil gene vs. the mystic view of being possessed by a Devil, both views are explored at the same time. Did Kazuya and Devil have internal dialogues in other Tekken games besides in Tekken 4? I think not. It had the best essential characters (no filler characters), the most realistically proportioned looking characters (not unrealistically overdone) and backgrounds, a great force mode, great music. It was the absolute pinnacle of the series, an overall height never reached again by its successors.
Stage 1: Nina in Beach Stage 2: Yoshimitsu in City Night Stage 3: Bryan in Jungle Stage 4: Marduk in Mall Stage 5: Steve in Mezanine Stage 6: Combot in Subway (Kuma) Stage 7:Jin.... Stage 8: Heihachi in Stadium Stage 9 Jin in Honmaru
