- Game of Thrones is officially... over. We know how it ends, we know who wins the wars and who has the last word on the Iron Throne. But that doesn't mean our appreciation for the World of Ice & Fire has to end. Check out Daenerys' conquering Dragon Queen hairstyle from the finale in this tutorial!
Difficulty: Moderately Hard
Hair Length: at least armpit length
Materials: small hair elastics, hair ties, bobby pins, hair extensions, hair bump
Skills needed: Dutch braid, French lace braid
Time cost: 30-75 minutes

whatever we make of the ending, i found this hairstyle so cool because to me it was almost mimicking the shape of a dragon head ! daenerys becoming even more like her babies at a very pivotal moment
I was correct, it did take four extra braids. Lol. I am happy to see that we approached the building of it the same. I left out the bump since I was using just my own hair and knew my braids wouldn't be thick enough to cover it.
I'm sad to see the show go. It was such a great inspiration for styling. Here's hoping we find another gem soon. Thanks for being my hairstyling companion for all of these years! 💗💗💗

I thought her last hairstyle was a bit too much. It elongated her skull so much that she looked like an alien. Poor Emilia Clarke, she must've gotten neck pains after that wig
Also, no shade to Shannon but the individual braids in the screen version look twice as thick as these. It must have been kilograms and kilograms of hair

I can barely do the most basic versions of Danys hairstyles so to do this is incredibly amazing. The only thing I noticed that altered in the braid style was that there are no ties keeping the last 2 braids together, they actually cross and are connected from underneath and one of them is used to wrap around the entire bundle of previous braids as if a small braid is being used to tie them all together. I cant wait to get to this level to do my hair. Thank you for the step by step tutorials!

Haha, I have been checking for this rapidly for about two days now. It was really funny, the other day I was thinking about this exact hairstyle because I had seen a headline with a picture of Daenerys wearing it. A little while after I saw it I was hanging out thinking that I would probably soon see a tutorial from you about it… at least I was hoping I would. @Matthew Mattocks Mine was also past my shoulder, until one day a little over a year ago I cut it short on a whim - but the hairdresser gave me a really weird haircut (she was scared bc she's had customers freak out on her after a drastic haircut), which made me feel very bad about myself... so I had it all chopped off (only a few inches left). After 16 months I'm back at shoulder length finally! Tip for growing it out: I was recommended zinc tablets for my acne, and OH MY my hair grows wayyy faster now! :)

I'm so glad you did this, I remember looking at Emilia Clarke's wig and trying to figure out how that was even possible. If I ever decide to cosplay her, I'll definitely use this tutorial for the wig! Don't think I'll ever try it on myself because my hair is kinda curly and matching not only hair color but also texture for extensions is a p a i n

i tried it with my own hair, of course it's not enough ( not so thick and not so many) Unvortunately. I wish i had so much hair, but i am happy with my result.

The point right at 6:30 into the video. I actually think that right there is a gorgeous draped braiding, and could be left as is or tied off at the bottom, too. I know this vid was aimed at reproducing Danni's hairstyle, but I just had to comment that I think it's really really pretty at this earlier point in the video, too!
