How good is this? So few people can do what Van Morrison does. Which is, as far as I'm concerned, take you to a magical place, where if things don't completely make sense, they are at least, WONDERFUL.
It's a short five minutes which you could listen to for hours. It isn't perfection and it doesn't try to be perfect, it's about humanity. There's virtuosity but that isn't the point either, it's to do with passion and conviction. It sounds easy and natural and I have no idea how hard you must have to work to make it seem so effortless. It's a simple song that somehow becomes a vehicle for a purpose which is not simple at all, which is profound and far reaching. It's sublime. Not just a musical thing but a spiritual experience. It could change you. You might feel enlightened, that you have learned to know something true, but that whatever that truth is it doesn't exist in words or in musical notes.
By God this is so damn good. What is Van doing toward the end, the sounds he makes. then Georgie Fame is AMAZING, the way these two back and forth, Van mimics and is in synch with Georgie's piano moves.
