BA (Hons) Acting - Collaborative and Devised Theatre

An innovative and rigorous actor training in Collaborative and Devised Theatre, emphasising the creation of new theatre and embracing a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary methodology. Students graduate with the skills to work in classical and contemporary theatre, film, radio and television, and are accomplished makers of their own work.
The core actor training includes the techniques of Jacques Lecoq, Michael Chekhov, Stanislavski and Kristin Linklater and emphasises a psychophysical approach. The Acting - Collaborative and Devised Theatre course also encourages actors to explore the most up-to-date forms of theatre and film making and to have a full creative and political engagement with their work.
From the outset, the course works closely with professional theatre companies and emergent or professionally active directors. Recently, students have had workshops and created performances with Complicite, Nancy Meckler, Filter Theatre, Declan Donnellan, Max Stafford-Clark, Robin Soans, Tanika Gupta, Douglas Rintoul/Transport Theatre, John Wright and Blind Summit.
