Yes if you time it well The UB 22 at official outlets could be found at 60-80$ in plenty of sizes This shoe is for sure worth that price… just gotta wait
The UltraBoost 19 were the first expensive running shoes I ever bought, and that was five years ago. They were $180 normally, but I got them for $130 at an Adidas Outlet store. I stopped running in them after 400 miles, but they are still very nice for walking. I would consider getting a new pair if I wasn't already full up on running shoes.
Agreed, 210lb runner here, it offers great protection and support. Great for easy/recovery/long runs, couldn’t get too much out of it on tempos or speed workouts. Shoe isn’t worth $180 but Adidas has them on sale for $135 now, which seems justifiable at that price point.
Your B-roll footage of the lakefront path in Chicago makes me miss running on that path myself quite a lot. I'm a trail runner and mountain runner now, but that path had a really good vibe and really good scenery. I'm gonna have to make a visit back to chi-town I think, lol
I love the outsole for this version. The previous versions had these sectioned pieces that would get separated into pieces. Now, it's nice, flat, and relatively whole.
I've got 25km in them and I've been enjoying it so far... it looks amazing (the retail version I got is the white one with purple/orange highlights)... For me, it feels like a bit like the Endorphin Shift... It's really for ez runs only... for the rest, the Boston 12 is the best choice.
I have all the Adizero shoes now after getting the SL2 but I also have various Ultraboost shoes for casual wear and would never run in. Got the Ultraboost 5X and it's still a lifestyle shoe that is now also a pretty decent running shoe. The SL2 is the perfect daily trainer that's been missing in the Adizero lineup. The UB5X just isn't as good as the SL2 for "serious" running. I've taken the SL2 on 10+ mile tempo runs and it felt great. I would not want to go on an easy run over 5 miles with the UB5X. That being said, the UB5X is perfect for weekend getaways and taking on short business trips when I want to just take one small carry-on bag without having to pack a pair of running shoes for a short morning run.

I found the 5x and the Triumph 21 to be very similar as well. The Triumph with slightly more pop due to the power run midsole, but adidas is definitely heading in the right direction.

Really wish adidas would make a shoe with a more reasonable drop. 10mm in 2024 is insane, especially as it looks like it has a rocker geometry too. I get some people heelcrash, but most don't. Regardless of where on your foot you land, a whole centimeter is far too high. Get with the times adidas, try 6mm (or less?) and I may try one of your shoes.
I will have to try the two new Ultraboost shoes in a store to compare the stability from the lockdown. I loved the Ultraboost 22 and Ultraboost Light ,regardless of the weight or the plastic cage. Hopefully this Ultraboost 5X will be stable enough for me without the cage.
I just received my Ultraboost 5. The upper seems to stretch a bit too much for me in stark comparison to my Ultraboost Light which hardly has any stretch at all. Tightening the laces helped a bit as compared to leaving it loose. With my initial release Ultraboost Light, the boost foam would crumble and break off! I hope this doesn't happen to the Ultraboost 5.

I'm currently running in Ultraboost 1.0s and Adizero SL2s - how would the Ultraboost 5x compare for easy recovery runs? Thinking of either getting a pair of Ultraboost 5/5x or Boston 12s to add to the rotation. However, I'm well aware the Boston 12s are getting old and we may have the 13s around the corner!
These shoes make zero sense in a rotation when you look at the Adizero lineup. The Boston 12 does everything this shoe does and can be found at a much lower price point on sale. Plus it’s got light strike pro and fiberglass rods. It’s literally good for all types of run: easy, tempo, race, you name it. The only thing about the Boston is the upper and the laces, which can be mostly fixed with ‘lock-laces’. I would not buy these ultra boosts until they go on sale for less than $100 tbh
Yes you can do it all with Boston 12, but it will eat them faster too... I guess that's why it's common having B12 as a specialized trainer and another easy trainer like SL2 or Supernova Rise sharing the mileage load.
@@recguerra3 Yes I use cheaper $100 trainers for my easier runs instead of Boston 12 so they dont get mileage too fast. Ironically my current pair of Bostons I found on a sale from Adidas for $80.
@@CARPital I guess being durable means 800-1000 km as a target, and acording to one's individuality Boston 12 can reach that far (pure guess). Not durable shoes goes 600km and then show signs of wearing: outside degradation, midsole feeling changed, upper damage or deformation.
Gen Z casual runners rejoice. because my daughter and friends dont want to look too much like a runner after a 10k? plus there will be like 30 colorways these must still be profitable even after big markdowns. How many more "easy/daily/casual runner" adidas shoes need to exist?
Adidas should jsut retire the ultraboost line. Ultraboost doesnt make any sense anymore. Its still very heavy and is not as reponsive as other shoes. There are so many alternatives to ultraboost which are cheaper, lighter, more responsive and lastly, better lookingThats my own opinion only. Now, if adidas can reformulate boost to be as light and as responsive as say the saucony's pwrrun then yeah people might take a second look at ultraboost

@@mediicice5862 Apart from the tiny bit of heel slip and crappy (short) laces, they're good - lightweight and pretty responsive
@@recguerra3 don't people say it so durable?
@@CARPital I guess being durable means 800-1000 km as a target, and acording to one's individuality Boston 12 can reach that far (pure guess). Not durable shoes goes 600km and then show signs of wearing: outside degradation, midsole feeling changed, upper damage or deformation.
WE ARE SO BACK
Gen Z casual runners rejoice. because my daughter and friends dont want to look too much like a runner after a 10k? plus there will be like 30 colorways these must still be profitable even after big markdowns. How many more "easy/daily/casual runner" adidas shoes need to exist?
I'd just wait until these hit outlets like every Ultraboost does and get them for half off
Que pena que esos colores no lleguen a Puerto Rico
Sheesh imma cop
I will buy this when they drop to 100 bucks during black friday 🤣🤣
I hope the Ultraboost 6 is more stable and not so narrow in the toe and no heel lift!
Stack height is not up to the mark for me!
2.9 cm forefoot stack and 3.9 heel stack is not enough for you?
Adidas should jsut retire the ultraboost line. Ultraboost doesnt make any sense anymore. Its still very heavy and is not as reponsive as other shoes. There are so many alternatives to ultraboost which are cheaper, lighter, more responsive and lastly, better lookingThats my own opinion only. Now, if adidas can reformulate boost to be as light and as responsive as say the saucony's pwrrun then yeah people might take a second look at ultraboost
It's still a casual shoe for me... and it's not even attractive. For this use, we have better options. 🙃
REVIEW THIS ----> ADISTAR BYD CARBON
Yo! Kofuziiii
yo
Yo, what’s going on!!! 🤔🤔 ok, no more boost midsole 😮
Yo Luis!
Superblast 2 would be better than these right?
So basically adidas just made Rebook floatride enerzy XD
Yo when did kofuzi start doing them floating shoe shots doe 🔥
I think I've used the technique in over 30 review videos at this point
🔥
thank you Mike!! Could we possibly get a review on the On Cloudrunner 2?
Adidas is the only major brand that has a factory in occupied territories, in that pseudo-country that starts with an "i"
31 mm or 38 mm in heels!
?
the information I received from Adidas says 31. my apologies if I've mis-spoken and said 38, although I don't recall saying that. maybe you can help me out with a timecode so I can update the description if I've made an error
Who the hell buys an ultraboost for running nowadays?? 😅
why does this video sound like a phone review?
I watch a lot of tech UA-cam
@@kofuzi makes sense, hella refreshing taking a shoe review in a new perspective
Ultraboost is one of the worst shoes I’ve ever tried.
I'm sure they are great but they look really bad !!!
Reviewing lifestyle shoes as a legitimate running shoe must be so painful for these shoe UA-camrs!
I enjoy that you refer to us in the abstract, as if I didn't exist here
@@kofuzi I was referring to you and everybody else in the industry. I didn’t realize you were the only one that reviewed shoes on UA-cam.
