Choosing a rimfire for this training session is perfect. Thanks for the tips. I'm a one bag guy too after trying everything else
Thx, Piet. Love your instructional vids
Piet You are the man! Awesome stuff.
Good show, have been shooting since i was about 5 yrs old shooting air rifle its good to know some of my techniques r correct dont shoot prs but do alot of shooting on the farm. Regards
Great job Piet!

Minimal gear on every stage is definitely my goal as I have definitely timed out fumbling around with too much gear before. Using the DFAT system at home I've been experimenting with which gear combos get me the most stable. There are certain positions where it still makes sense to run 2 bags (like a pump pillow for example), as my wobble zone is noticeably smaller. But I'm trying not to let it become a crutch because the MD at our local matches loves to limit stages to one bag.
I use both, as I learned from Ryan Cleckner that a good solid pack, which in turn can carry all your necessities is very useful. Interested to hear your take also piet.
Couldn’t have said it better depends on application
Well said I use my pack as well
Back pack works great I use it all the time
Packs work for longer range shooting... as soon as your rate of fire goes to a rapid or even a fairly rapid cadence... you had better have a hand rail that goes all the way out to the end of your barrel or your "bag" will either melt or catch fire. First hand experience speaking... was sad to lose the bag.
Very good content
I want to put my 22 into an MDT LSS gen2 chassis so badly!!!! Yours looks so good! But I am a peasant and dang they are expensive chassis. I wish I could afford one. Love that stock too!!!!!
What rifle is he shooting ?
Bipod bounce is also a real thing, I only hunt but these days I shoot off sticks or a bag.
Piet, you should do a video comparing using an arca rail attached bag vs a separate bag in hand. Curious on you thoughts as I've been jumping between the two and am starting to favor the attached bag for stages with several position changes, but have found it to be a little less flexible and slightly less stable because you can't mold the bag into the shooting position before putting the rifle down on it.
Tripod > bipod/bag
But really I love using a tripod for field use. I've shot tiny groups with both a bipod and with a bag. Each has its place but I think the bipod is the least versatile but the most stable. At least that's been my experience.
I'll shut up and watch the video now, curious about what you have to say.
Piet when do you use the heavy filled bag and when do you use the light.
When I competed I always use a bipod on the front and a rabbit ear rear sand bag. This way I shot a lot like you do. I could adjust elevation grossly moving the bag forward & back and make fine adjustments in any direction by pinching the ears / manipulating them . Great channel.
I have a question for you. I want to build a more DMR battle / do all rifle on the AR -15 size platform that gives more then the 556/223. Wich would you do between the 6.5 grendal or the 6mm arc?????
The Grendel is a fantastic round and has been much more reliable in the AR platform. 6ARC AR's have had reliability and accuracy issues in the past, but those are getting resolved by a number of companies.
The one advantage of the Grendel is the availability of steel case affordable ammo, if you can find it. The street case ammo is fairly accurate, but it's made in Russia. Much harder to find than it once was....
Strike eagle or pst gen 2 is there a difference between glass quality
Hey Pete, what chassis and buttstock are you running in the video?
Hi Pieter
Hoe ver was daai gong en wat was die van daai plaat ,Daai klank is awesome
Is there a class/category for ar-15 with this style of courses?
You could have used a triggercam or a scopecam to prove your point visually. Aside from that, put a scopecam so we can see too pls
Piet great timing on the video. Next Sunday I plan on trying my very first PRS match in NRL22. I have been going back and forth on which bag to buy. Should I bother buying a bag that could be mounted to rifle via arca rail over a bag that does not mount to the rifle?
I use the Area419 Rail changer and their compatible bags and the system is great, BUT I would recommend a shmedium size game changer bag or similar as a first bag. It works great as a single bag and a rear stock support and even if you get a rail style bag later you will still use it on bipod prone stages. Also don't buy a bunch of gear before you shoot a match, go to a match first and ask questions and ask to try stuff out that other people are using. Every match I've been to experienced shooters are throwing themselves at new members trying to help them out.
@@EvWine thank you for the advice. I purchased a Weibad Fortune Cookie bag to start off with. I watched a lot of videos and see lots of people use similar bags. I Def will speak with a lot of people that day and gather what info I can.
add vs sling
When your in the US, would love to see you complete in a 22lr competition. The competitors are extremely tough in the NFL series!!
Im all about the bag, because it can double as a pillow lol.
Hi Piet, do you think it is still important to add a tripod to your kit for PRS/NRL ?
Thanks in advance.
Dit hang af, ek sal n video vir jou doen oor dit, great vraag 🎯
Hey, not fair!
Hey Pete when are you getting the Falkor rifles? I am excited for that.
We normally wait around 90 working days for licenses to be approved and 3 weeks after that for the license card to be printed and reach your local police station. If you are lucky
@@Phriqhi ouch I can see why things take a while.
I need to buy next year's hunting rifle this year
@@Phriqhi Well yoi live in a beautiful area. Maybe you could have a summer home in Montana. Then you could buy any gun you want and pick it up the same day.
That is the largest 22lr silencer I've ever seen. Does it really need a cover for heat?
Why does it have have a purpose? It looks cool is a reason too i reckon.

What is the best Long range scope do u recommend?
Vortex Razor 6-36x56 MRAD
@@IMPACTSHOOTING thanks🤩❤️
Just curious what bipod is that?
Also want to know!
Good afternoon,
Unrelated to the video really , (sorry about that) , but , among other UTube channels that I am subscribed to , I truly believe you are the person I would like to ask explanations about.
What is the definition of “grain” when describing a bullet?
And what is “jacket” also mean?
Thank you so much for your time.
Are you uploading any hunting shots any soon? ( pretty please…☺️)
Thank you
Chris from UK
Just went hunting! Grain is the weight of the bullet. Jacket is the copper layer covering of a lead core bullet 🎯
@@IMPACTSHOOTING thank you so much for responding and for taking time to respond
Much appreciated
Chris.
In real world conditions... a light bipod. A bag isn't practical to carry around in combat. Even if it was filled with really light polymer pellets... it still takes up too much space.
Excellent. I'm going with a bag then because I'm after a target that doesn't stay in one place for long...rodents.
why the hell does every one of these bag vs bipod video use 22lr???? are u guys trying to mess with us for real?
Tripod
You better watch out showing a bipod and a bag may get you demonitized lol good ol comitube
MONEY! LoL
