H&P is top tier, from executives, rig managers and to the crews. Hey Wes, your rig and all H&P rigs have a Rotating Mousehole Tool as part of the drill-floor arrangement. My late father, Huey, invented that tool. It is standard equipment on all H&P Rigs now and well as other big contractions. Merry Christmas -- Best Wishes and Always Be Safe.
Great job flying/filming, Wes. Phantom 4, maybe? You had the perfect downward tilt going as you gained altitude above the rig...I'm jealous. Yup, I fly a P4Pro+, so I know how hard it is to shoot this kind of beautiful, continuous one-shot footage. Congratulations....the sound track is friggin' awesome since it grows to match the scene. btw, I did a 33-hr cased-hole job with Schlumberger Offshore in the Gulf back in '82 as part of my INTERVIEW!...they made me an offer afterwards, but I ended up at IBM. Get this: Hurricane Debby was brewing in the Gulf ('82) when we were scheduled to depart the rig and head back to Larose, LA. Once the Personnel Carrier lifted off the deck, my knees were literally shaking as it started swinging a HUGE pendulum as I watched the 62' "speedboat" awaiting below with waves crashing across the deck while the captain frantically whipped the throttles on those Allison V12s back-and-forth trying to keep it stationary....one of my 9 lives got used up that day, for sure!
Has anyone had problems loosing your signal and getting disconnected while flying your drone ..they are setting up getting ready to drill I’m loosing my signal and get disconnected for a few seconds then comes back on....anyone having this problem too?
I could tell that the drill string was still turning in the hole. What promoted my comment was that it looks to be Baker-Hughes trucks starting to arrive and casing was laid out on the pipe racks. Obviously the drill string would need to be tripped out and the hole conditioned before the casing could be run and cemented. BTW, What is nitrogen foam cement. I am a mechanical engineer with no experience in the oil patch, so I hope that you can pardon my ignorant questions.
epistte No worries. When the formations are weak, they can't handle the weight of a column of cement so we use nitrogen to foam up the cement to help keep it in position until it sets. Otherwise, the weight could cause the cement to seep into the weak formation and the column of cement around the casing would not be sufficient.
