Grande artista.
Dmitri is an undisputed genius. His Italian, here, is such an adorable show of respect he had for every nation, every human being. Truly, I could not loose any word he had said in this radio interview. I am speechless. He speaks of his gratitude to Russian President . He talks of his fellow Russians, like Shallapin or famous director of the Russian opera house that he made his careful young steps with both in Russia and in USA. I am in awe.
He mixes English, Spanish with Italian and his grammar is all over the place. But his intentions are golden, and I am in awe of him too.
DH has been asked , while in the USA, about being a patriot, he : now it's not anymore a crime to be a patriot for Russia. in '90 something changed. Russia has gone down and national pride has gone lost. He remembers songs of II World war sang by his grandmother, He feels that it is important help young talented musicians to develop.
You wrote: "with strong russian accent that I never heard him in english" but it is not true. I'm Italian and Dima spoke Italian very well with very little or even without inflections!
That is exactly what the sentence means, that he had NO accent, he spoke very well. I am italian and I spoke to him in italian many times.Besides, I was translating, not writing, the radio speaker said the sentence, not me.
@@TheDmitrilover ah I understand now. I too misunderstood and thought it was you that had detected a Russian accent. He speaks both English and Italian very well. The speed with which he answers is a clear indication that he is understanding and responding, not translating the interviewer into Russian then translating his response from Russian to Italian. So I guess that makes him fluent. Dmitri was a very talented man - a voice which I think was a gift from heaven, the ability to learn and communicate in other languages (I believe he was fluent in a couple more and could communicate In severs others too?), a beautiful soul and on top of that a very wise, intelligent being. The world was a better place with him in it. Xx
@adimitariva Some russian authors and masters are helping not only from Russia ( Renata Scotto ) In his developing he has been interested in italian singing and in 19° and 20° century , russian baritone studied with italian teachers . Russian singing school has been always linked to italian school . For this he now feel ready to sing Verdi. He loved italian concerts , public is very hot. The choice of Mussorgsky songs is due to a long study, the music has grown with him.
