Puerto Rico is a great place, if you speak Spanish that is. It's basically Florida but without any Florida men, and hearing that the taxes are pretty good too, I want to move there again.
After he moves to Puerto Rico “You’re free trial has expired”. What I’m trying to say here is that one thing is to be a tourist and another thing is to be a resident. Can’t base your decisions off a weekend party, sight seeing visit.
Puerto Rico is the only land in the US that does not pay federal taxes and most houses in the upper middle class the price is 140,000 and no taxes are paid for the property. They only pay tax on property that costs 200,000 onwards and the tax on a house that costs 200,000 would pay between 200 and 300 for the whole year. Another good thing about a rich port is that you live in the United States but in the Caribbean . The weather is similar of San Diego all years is 72-82F

I am moving on from the island to more remote areas, because it has become way too trendy to move here. The luster of the island gets lost more with each gringo that moves here. We have an incredible ability to ruin the originality of a place we start herding to. IMO it's not good, but the only way to change it is for me to move farther from gringos.

Good places in Florida are West Palm Beach, Clear Water, Naples, Billionaire Bunker in Miami, Sarasota, Key Largo, and Sands Key. In Sands Key, the water is just like the Bahamas crystal clear and blue.
All these places are enjoyable in the middle of the winter. I am from Chicago and happy I moved out.

This is exactly the reason. Puerto Rico is a haven for Americans when it comes to taxes. Especially for crypto, it's not taxed there.
That's the reason why all these rich people are leaving. It's almost like it's better to have low taxes and get some revenue, than raise them absurdly high and get no revenue.... Also when those rich people leave, so do their jobs and all the tax revenue their employees pay, and there's a fuck ton of people who are now jobless and can't pay their mortgage. The implications run deep if you actually look past the overly simplified surface of "TAX THE RICH!!!!!"

As as Puerto Rican born and raised in the island, it is extremely unfair how I had to move to the states and leave my family behind because the cost of living is so expensive and the pay wages are so low. While he's moving there because he will be making more money and paying less in taxes.

This is causing the housing market and the overall cost of living to go up drastically. Causing it where a lot of Puerto Rican’s can’t afford to live there which is forcing them to leave their land and move to the states. This happened to hawai when we turned it from a territory into a state. A ton of rich Americans moved there causing the overall cost of living and the housing market to go up dramatically. A really big amount of Hawaiians had to leave hawai and move to the states due to the fact they can’t afford to live in their own land anymore. If Puerto Rico ever becomes a state and more rich Americans come in which is a high possibility many more Puerto Rican’s will be forced to move into other states due to the cost of living.

Yeah I get that. I’m Puerto Rican and I live in Puerto Rico and Im fortunate enough to be in a family of wealth and have really been great. But that doesn’t mean middle class people are going to enjoy themselves here, Puerto Rico is more of a place to visit for a week or two.

Hurricanes typically cut power to the island, and according to what happened in Maria, the island got cut out completely and took more than half a year to recover. If you live in popular cities like San Juan, or a town close to there, you'll be one of the first to receive light. If you live in the mountains, you won't get flooded, but electricity will come slower, or risk getting flooded but receiving electricity faster. It depends on the place you'll live, but it doesn't mean floods are common like in Texas. It's really nice here, we have a distinct culture, and we have a lot of big stuff over here, like the world's biggest JCPenny, in Plaza las Americas! I give you that point, I was living in Dayton, OH for 3 years and couldn't have been lonelier than I was. Dead inside, no parkour or sports outdoor through the winter; everything had to be planned. When I came back home, everything just happens, friends and people are everywhere near. Lovely to see him in love and hey!!, if he's got money he is gonna love it even more.

You only have to live in Puerto Rico half the year, 183 days for the tax break. For those afraid of hurricane season, it is 6 months so you could just live somewhere else during that time.
I came to PR for the taxes and ended up loving it for many other reasons. Best decision ever.
Escaping the IRS and having the ability to occasionally being capable of underreporting local taxes is good too 😆.

I used to work for Tidewater Marine, as a Deckhand on the bi-monthly trip, taking a GIANT BARGE from Jacksonville, FL., to San Juan, P.R.
IT was HUGE. Id guesstimate it was the size of a football field,...and it was filled with trailers filled with goods. Raw goods for manufacturing, and whole goods for retail. It even had car dealerships' cars being shipped.
The boat I was on, sank in a hurricane with the crew that relieved us. I went home, they took over, and on a trip to Puerto Rico, they were caught in a hurricane. Hurricane Andrew, I think.
Remember, P.R. is one of the many "SPEED BUMPs" for these newer, MASSIVE hurricanes that have been coming since Hurricane Katrina destroyed my home in 2005.
YOU better have spare generators, spare SOLAR PANELS secured in a spot that wont let them get broke or ruined by flooding, as well as the DC to AC converter, and battery packs.

I don't think Mike fully understands the way george feels. George and Evan have been with Logan from the beginning. I talk about this on my channel and fell for it myself. As a Minnesota-born bloke I was not ready for the Summer's here, but I love everything else. I am moving on from the island to more remote areas, because it has become way too trendy to move here. The luster of the island gets lost more with each gringo that moves here. We have an incredible ability to ruin the originality of a place we start herding to. IMO it's not good, but the only way to change it is for me to move farther from gringos.
