Many years ago, back when my wife and I met, we clicked immediately when we started talking about music. Our VERY first private conversation was all about us both gushing about Yoko Kanno's work, and since we enjoy the game a lot, we just HAD to take part in this contest.
This was back when I still lived in my home country and I didn't know I had the option to pursue a career in music abroad. Music taught me to dream in spite of the odds, and also to embrace flexibility and openness in a world where I felt stifled in so many ways I can't even begin to count them.
The thought of wondering how many different lives you could have had, aware of infinite possibilities while trying to create memories of today for the sake of your future self has made me cry more than once while working on this song. Lluvia wrote incredibly powerful lyrics here that tap into the soul of March's character and themes, so I hope you can enjoy and connect with them, or just enjoy them!! She's such a good character, still a staple on my teams, and her design is so pretty (did you see Lluvia's art??? Look at it again! She's so cute). I love you, March 7th.
Going back to the music, I wanted to convey the infinite possibilities in March 7's past by blending in different genres / arrangement choices in one single song. Trailblazing, etc! I also consider this song a mix between a homage and a musical conversation. But honestly, just knowing that Ms. Kanno will hear our contest entries is an important thing that I would love to tell my baby self, because I know they'd also cry. ❤️ Thank you, Ms. Kanno!!! You literally changed my life.
