Coming from Apple, this is the first windows thing I can’t seem to solve. Neither options work. So now I have a brand new 2grand pc that will go to sleep, but wont wake up😮😮😮😮
I have tried everything on youtube and still my problem persists. Whats happening is that the cpu does wake but not fully. my power button lights up and i can hear the processor turn on but thats it. The red light next to the power button does not turn on and no signal is sent to my monitor. HELP!!!
Disabling PCI-E power saving or disabling hibernation (with powercfg -h off command) did not help me. Unistalling and reinstalling nvidia drivers seems to have worked though. It took me about 6 hours to go through a complete list of solutions suggested by Dell Support and I am not sure which recommendation helped exactly, but disabling all services except for windows services helped. Which gave me an idea that it was a driver issue. I found that some nvidia driver files were from different dates, so I uninstalled all nvidia files completely and then reinstalled new nvidia drivers. And the issue has not reappeared. I do not recommend disabling hibernation (as per the second advice in this video), because it's the best mode (saves power and preserves all open apps), and the whole purpose is to fix hibernation, not disable it. My Windows 10 system has an issue where the hard drive will NOT wake upon trying to power up after sleeping. I have posted about this issue on some forums and haven't found a solution. I feel as though this issue has been present for what seems like a year and a half or more now. I know the hard drive is the issue here because the "status" light on my tower does NOT blink when powering up from SLEEP. So somehow the computer still thinks it is being awaken from sleep. Hopefully this description makes sense. I have searched and haven't found an issue identical as this one is. When an adjustment has been done, such as the first suggestion in this video, and it doesn't fix the problem should it be undone before going on to the next step?

Nice tutorial, however i couldn't find PCIExpress option in the battery plan settings
same.
This was the fix for the black screen problem after standby on my pc. It happens only when C1E state in Bios and the Windows PCIe energy saving option is both enabled.
When an adjustment has been done, such as the first suggestion in this video, and it doesn't fix the problem should it be undone before going on to the next step?
Worked like a charm the first try. THANKS!!!!!!!!!
You're welcome!
what does powercfg -h do??
It turns off hibernation (not sleep), which may get in the way of waking the system up immediately via keyboard/mouse. It seems to work inconsistently across computing devices.

Works like a charm for xiaomi mi notebook pro! No more ruining the backplate screws!

@@MDTechVideos oof little update, problem still there apparently despite testing yesterday. It looked promising but apparently this laptop's problem is a bit deeper.. That's what you get with budget brands :/
was the command prompt really necessary or was it optional?
I put my windows 10 laptop on sleep mode an now my USB port (which had mouse dongle plugged in) isnt working. I've tried all that google recommended so far but no luck. Can you please tell me how to resolve this?

just wondering if this work with NUC6I3SYH running window10 pro ?
You solution worked so I just subscribed! I won't waste time on other sites any longer. Thanks.
Glad I could help
I HAVE to comment here. I have been dealing with this for a long time and have tried EVERYTHING all others suggested with no luck. This seems to have worked. Why in all the other help forums on the internet was this never mentioned? And why after years of no problems with my pc did this just all of sudden start happing? My guess is a Windows update at some point. Anyway, thank you, much appreciated.
Edit: yea not working again. this pc is pissing me off hard. I still appreciate the advice though.
Command Prompt was the fix. Thanks so much. Still curious why the hell it started doing this issue out of nowhere...
Need lid opening and keyboard to be able to wake the computer. There's no "power management" tab in the keyboard properties, etc. Help. HP Elitebook Revolve 810 G3, win10 pro.
Please help! When i go to hybernate I want it to come back on with a mouse movement or keyboard, non work. Only thing that works is power key which is a pain and on the side of laptop.
The two solutions you provided did not work for me. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse. Does that matter?
All my devices are checked I have a laptop that’s hdmi to a monitor when I put it in sleep mode it won’t turn on?

Super awesome bro!! It worked for my acer nitro 5 laptop. The cmd did the trick for me. I had given up hope at this point but now am soo happy
You're welcome!
the cmd trick is the "powercfg /h off" one right?
This sounds well and good. But how do I actually get this laptop OUT of sleep mode to be able to do this? There's no battery I can pull out of it, no buttons do anything. HELP

If you can kindly elaborate, I will do my best to assist.
solved. That took me 4 hours to troubleshoot. Someone at Microsoft sent out a build and forgot to revert the setting back on one of the intel settings. I caint show you here in case i get blamed for your laptop not working. I gave you a hint.

@@MDTechVideos some of us have this issue. in the advanced power plan options there is no pci settings. in my case i have battery, screen, etc, but no pci. for now i ran the command and i will try out if it fixed my issue.

Works great if your monitor turns on. I put mine into sleep mode a week ago, and the computer will power up but the screen stays black. I have tried to connect to an auxiliary monitor, but nothing happens .. the HDD light is not even blinking. HP laptop.
Of course if you’re already in sleep mode and we’re waiting in a line for 2 hrs on line for your turn online, now it goes into sleep mode and there’s no way to wake it up, to start following the steps. LOL?
This helped a lot . I was really frustrated with this problem. Thanks alot. 🔥🔥🔥
Glad it helped
This helped me in april 2024 thank you
Turning hibernate mode off can't be considered as a full fledged solution, only as a temporary workaround.
works for me bro.. really appreciate this :)
