Im glad I live in a place where they dont enforce the no baffle thing too much. It is a lot of fun listening to it.
When I bought my Akrapovic (2005 FZ6N) I was disappointed with the sound when the DB-killers were mounted, and without them it was too loud for street use, I then bought a couple of Akrapovic V-TUV019 DB-killers, shortened the internal stingers slightly (due to different internal angle of stinger), and voilà; now I have a very nice deep sound while reducing the noise on the wild side of the rev-range :)
So you can buy baffles separately to fit inside the exhaust?? I'm buying a bike with them removed and worried about mot test passes later on....

wow - has no idea how much quieter the baffles make this pipe. i have the same pipe on my fz6 and have never had the baffles in. ever. i LOVE it. (and not a single fine)
Does it pass its mot do you know (if you are in the uk), just asking because I'm potentially buying a bike with the same exhaust with what appears to be the baffles removed....

yea its probably worth leaving the silencer out. Sounds too mean to baffle it. And also, its not that loud of a bike where it would be obvious/obnoxiously loud. Put the silencer in for inspection/emissions and I'd bet you wouldnt have a problem

How long did it take in real time to install? And what do they cost in Germany? (I live in ridiculous expensive denmark) 😊 great video by the way!
The first time I disassembled the machine it took about 2 hours. But that was due to my inexperience (first larger "operation'" on my bike). I had to exchange the exhaust after the first installation because it was not welded correctly and the geometry did not fit perfectly (yes, the Akrapovic welders screwed up and I got a replacement part). That second time I installed the exhaust went much faster, perhaps 45 minutes in total.
The exhaust ist not cheap in Germany, too. I paid 826 Euros, but I guess it is more expensive in Denmarkt as you have higher taxes on everything ?

I see that akrapovic code for fz6 is e1 0552 but i have akrapovic e1 0475 that akrapovic says is about R1 2004-2006...would i have a problem with that?
I think that my fz6 sound is more powerful than fz6 with e1 0552

Would you say the sound improved? Those Akras arent the cheapest and I am looking for new Exhausts for my FZ6 RJ07.
After a year of use I must say I can not recommend the Akra for this bike (I've got a RJ14 btw). At first the geometry was off (welding error) and I was not able to mount it correctly. The exhaust had to be replaced. The sound has not improved significantly (if you leave the dB killer in- if it's out, you've got a monster). And to round the experience off I had some kind of rust or decoloring at the exhaust (yes, stainless steel and still something is happening). I was able to polish it away with Pelox, but it keeps coming back.
Bottom line: I had expected something better for the price and would advise to buy another brand. A friend of mine has the same bike and the Leo Vince exhaust - much better sound and way cheaper.

Too loud for the police? No, it is perfectly legal with the silencer in, the exhaust comes with a permit. Too loud for the biker ? I don't understand the question...
Me quedo con el escape original d la moto ! Mas teniendo en cuenta q hubo un igeñiero q estudio y se repomio la cabeza diseñando un escape en especial para la moto. ! Y venimos nosotros y se lo cambiamos por el primer juego d escapes q se nos crusa.. como si fuera un par de calsones.. ! 😬😬
How did you remove the db killer?
The dB killer is a pipe with a sleeve, which is fitted into the main exhaust. Remove a little screw beneath the main exhaust and you can pull the dB killer out with pliers. Depending on the tolerances it might require some force. The right hand silencer can be removed easily on my bike, the left one is always pain in the @$$ to be removed and reinstalled.

With the dB killer's In, I think the Stock Exhaust has a better sound/Note than the aftermarket. lol. Sorry guys ! 99.9% of the time this is Not the case. Put the Stock back on, and get your $$$ back.

I have no silencer`s and when i tested i have allmoust same sound whit silencer maby louder begause left is not thigt and is little loosy so i take them off (fz6-n) and cops havent stop me yet. sorry about english :)
Was it easy to take them off? Im getting mine in a couple of weeks (fz6-n 07) and might take them off and then put them back on before next inspection.
Marlon Gordon Sjöberg , you don't have to take the Akrapovic stuff off for inspection. The exhausts come with an operstion permit.

Then whats the point on buying such an expensive exhaust if you cant take the mufflers and the silencer, when those are on, it sounds exactly the same as the original one, waste of money...
Shame the Eu requires baffles in the exhaust, in the uk we just take them out with no issues, unless you go to wales 😂😂
