Sinner the real Number one.
As a physio i gotta weigh in here. The ligaments of the ankle are interwoven with the joint capsule. There are 3 ligaments on the inner side and 4 on the outer side. Andy didn't quite roll the ankle, but his foot got stuck and twisted a little bit. He tore the TFA ligament in the front, and partially tore the CF in the back. But since these ligaments are part of the joint capsule they somewhat support one another. If you don't tear all of them (like Zverev did in Paris) there is a chance you can continue with a taped ankle once the initial pain wears off, at least for a while. Not recommended though. And not taking anything away from Andy, he is a warrior for sure.
i wonder how he could even tear those ligements while wearing this ankle support. also on the video you could see his ankle and foot be like 90 degrees when touching the ground. i doubt he would have continued playing beyond a 3rd set tiebreak. i remember Dominic Koepfer once playing the whole 1st set against Alcaraz after an ankle injury.
@@Alexander-dt2eq as i said it was more like a twist - tibia & fibula moving in one direction but the foot placed at a slightly different angle. The foot gets stuck in its position because of the rubber sole but tibia & fibula continue their momentum. The two ligaments both attach to the fibula.
13:45 You can see that Sinners forehand has so much speed, his racquet arm wraps around his back in the follow-through. Maybe it's his flexibility as an original alpine skier that makes this possible, whether learnt when he was a kid, or genetic. I bet he is walking fast too, as many people do that have natural speed and agility.
Love this! And love what you said about Murray. Bravo for another great Monday rant
Thank you 🙏
I love the love for Andy Murray 👏👏👏
About Andy Murray. Mentioning older players, whose body's are plagued with injuries, but still go on the court, fighting it out, not worrying about rankings nor trophies, but still give it all, a name comes to mind. Jimmy Connors.
Andy Murray is just gaining everybody's respect. A latter day Connors? Of course not. Nobody has come close to his record in tournament titles, although Roger gave it a run for his money.
But Murray deserves respect.
Connors is one of the GOAT’s 💯💯
Like you I was never an Andy Murray fan until his second career after his hip surgeries. The fight, grit and will power he displays are very inspirational for a recreational 4.0 player like me
💯
One of the greatest warriors we’ve ever seen. Absolutely spot on. Andy may not have as many majors as the three, but this guy may have the greatest heart, equalled in fight only by Rafa.
I accept I support Murray of the talent which he had he was machine must have won more slams than Novak but he was never fit
@@RohitKumar-zm3nw if only he had Novak's magic potions
@@TimelyAdventure 😂😂🐍
@@RohitKumar-zm3nwstop smoking u Nole hater..Andy on his best day couldn't beat Nole what the hell r u on....When u have nothing to pinpoint here come the YT warriors spreading hatred on Nole...indication of how Novak lives in ur head rent free
14min 27 you can see a little squirell down left of the screen 😍😍🥰🥰
It was an extremely impressive performance by Sinner in the Miami final. Those two passing shots on break point and set point when he was out of position affected Dimitrov's confidence. Now. I am not predicting domination yet. Why? I still think significant improvement is needed. Sinner needs a transition game and its taking a bit longer than I would like to acquire it. I cannot see him dominating number 1 for one hundred plus weeks and winning multiple slams (like more than 5) without a proper transition game.
Nice background squirrels!
great video.. thank you for sharing. Mad respect to Andy Murray! and Danielle Collins... I was not much of a fan of Danielle,, but again.. thanks for the analysis on Alcaraz , Sinner and Djokovic.
Great analysis as usual!!
🔥🙌🙏
On Joker...Father Time gets to everyone. All it's going to take is losing a quarter of a step and he starts missing some of those spectacular digs. I also think his fear factor among the elite players is starting to fade. The other players have beaten him and see it's not the impossible task it once was. We shall see.
Murray/Collins fan forever!!!
Been looking for a good tennis shoe and the way you talked about the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 made me look for it online. Found one that’s my size and purchased it. Thank you for the info you provide. Love your channel.
Nik it would have been great to meet you at the tournament. Few of us Chicago guys cane down the first (rainy) weekend. Maybe next year?
It's so funny you mention that about Dimi's shoes. I was watching the match and thought hmm, they kinda look like my ones (from your recommendation videos. Btw they're maybe my favourite sporting shoes i've owned). And I got a closer look and thought oh they are the same but I've never seen them like that.
Great video!
But, Novak Joke'Ovic? Who is that? Is he one of those Australian guys from back in the day, white tennis balls and all that? The guy who played doubles with Fred Perry? Maybe you could post a picture, even if it is in black and white.
The tennis shoe is such a personal thing ... I did not get along with the Vapor Zoom 9.5. Bought them because Fed and good reviews, but did not work out for me (but liked a lot the way they looked). Rolling the Babolat Propulse Fury (clay) now. For me they work out very well, needed no break-in, very confortable. I think tennisnerd also has a favorable review of them (the hard court edition).
Andy Murray… just wow.
I played a tournament and broke one ligament and I was almost crying. I was screamingly like crazy. I couldn’t continue to play and was forced to stop playing tennis for 8 week. After 12 weeks I was fully recovered.
May i ask: Which ligament did you tear?
@@alexlackner1945
CFL. The ATFL and PTFL have been „overstretched“ according to the doctor. Ankle was heavily swollen. I rolled over on carpet surface…
My cousin collects Nike shoes, and literally has hundreds of pairs of different types of Nikes. Great job on the video my friend.
🙏
What is the name of the "best" tennis shoes?
The Vapor 9.5 should just be permanently on sale... still better than some of the current/new Nike shoes.
💯
Happy for Murray, there's no better way to go out and be remembered.
Forzaaaa!
Nick.. Andy become a warrior in my eyes when he beat Robredo for the title in Valencia ages ago. Check out that match.
Its a normal adrenaline from injury. It's what happens when you are in trouble and must reach safety.
Could you test wilson shift 99?
I think Djokovic should hire Kyrgios to be his coach 😂
it is a slingshot , i called it spaghetti but its a slingshot, indeed.
The greatest pitcher in MLB history - Walter Johnson - used a slingshot pitching motion. (Google UA-cam videos of him to check it out.) The question is: Why didn't other pitchers follow suit?
Maybe that was a natural gift he had and the other hadn't, just as Sinner
Novak looks a couple of steps slower now.
Well you’re from Croatia could you be his coach? 😊
Hi Nikola, I have a question specifically about STRENGTH. Imagine that a tennis player has perfect strokes, footwork, all of it. Imagine that their serve, forehand and backhand look EXACTLY like Federer in his prime, BUT, this player has only 1/2 the muscle strength of Federer. How much would this player's serve speed and groundstroke speed be reduced?
That’s a great question. I might answer this in video format.
@@IntuitiveTennis Hi Nikola, it would be great hear your take on excellent form vs. excellent strength. Thanks again.
I'm working fine switching to sa forehand, and it will improve even more, you were wrong sorry 😑
Zoom Vapors are poorly made for hard courts‼They don't last more than 20 - 30 hrs. of play‼
Zoom vapours 💪💪
I think he is still wearing the Vapor 9.0 instead of the updated 9.5

Hi
Who knew squirrels could teleport?
😂😂
Goran should coach Kyrgios
Nick's not coming back.
Djokovic is definitely still a contender, but can he beat Sinner?
Oh no. You compared Danielle Collins to Serena Williams. Here comes the firestorm! (You're right, by the way).
Nike tennis shoes disintegrate quickly. At least for me and among my Polish tennis fellows. Or we are getting a bad quality version. Anyway my Vapors disintegrated within 6 months and I got them refunded. I am not the only one. Not recommended
On my gay team tennis team, we got to pick our wta player nicknames. I picked Danielle Collins. I love her attitude!
Who ask?
Lol on my tom boy team we pick ATP names. I picked Alex De Minaur and i like it😎👍
Watch sinner up close...he is swinging very hard
They don’t call him baby fed For nothing.
He tore the ligaments at 5-5 in the 3rd set tie break. He lost after that
There is no doubt Collins is a great player and an intense competitor. I respect her for that. However, I cannot condone her peculiar shrieking. Using grunting to help with breathing is one thing, but using voice as a weapon is another. Unlike Sharapova or Sabalenka, Colins doesn't shriek all the time. She can play through most of a match perfectly fine without shrieking. But when she starts, boy she can make her shrieking sound as disturbing as possible, with varying degree of pitching that can reach the level of hysteria. It seems to me that she uses shrieking strategically to lift her self up and also inject some fear into the opponent. This is uncalled for. And there got to be some constraints on the form of shrieking. Tennis players shouldn't sound like soldiers in a bayonet fight. BTW, Collins actually didn't shriek much in the final against Rybakina, while she was a screamer in the match against Garcia. This suggests she is more of a strategic grunter.
It is not worth continuing playing with a torn ligament!! Health is more important. I doubt in 20 or 30 years if anyone will remember him fighting with a torn ligament
He used to fake so many injuries beofre he worked with Lendl it may be some kind of weird karma if it is even real.
People who want Novak to retire, dont even like to loose one day of their job. But, expect Novak to quit his job. Crazy people, as long as Novak plays what are your problem.😂
i think as a slavic person you know he is Grig'or, not Gr'igor
This guy is boring. Always saying the same thing. Keep saying Carlos need to play ugly, play high percentage 🙄 absolutely boring teaching and preaching by all tennis coaches today, WHICH IS WRONG and kills all joys in Tennis
@Cyukkj okay foool. Pffft.
Sorry, I can`t give any credit for a guy, who doesn`t care for for his body. Why is he playing when he has already had a hip replacement?
He didn't have a full hip replacement actually, just the joint surfaces were replaced
This is good for tennis, we need to move away from Djokovic, he may be the best player in history but he's an awful ambassador for tennis!!!
Why should someone who stands up for other tennis players who earn less, cares about the younger generation, donates and has a charity be seen as bad? The only thing you could criticize is his behavior on the court, but there are enough other players, like Andy Murray and John McEnroe, who also lose their cool on the court.
He’s arguably the best player of all times. That in itself makes him an amazing ambassador.
😢😢😢😢😢.
He is also plant based lifestyle ambassador for the planet and animals
Absurd comment. He isn’t perfect (nobody is), but he loves tennis and has grown into an excellent “ambassador” for the game, as well as its most accomplished champion. I say this as a lifelong Roger fan.
I never liked Murray, he appeared to me as a diva. I don't think there is a Murray legacy,
On january 1st, 2025 we will be saying "man, djokovic still won 2 of the 4 majors"...
Really hate how us fan and the press keep disregard Murray because he doesnt have the good result. Make him have to really prove himself and tearing himself down in the process. Sad to see
