I do think it's just the result of a lack in progressible items combined with an improved player base. Yet I see ppl returning to mission items again, which I love.
With the one shot and the rgls it has become easy to wipe squads. Platoons of rgls and one shot have become common place. Doesn't help that some streamers are pure pvp so people watch and try. Some even do manhunts which I'm sure instills the pvp element to the dmz.

I quit playing DMZ for that reason. It became impossible to play without getting swarmed on all sides. If i wanted to play Warzone, I’d just go and play Warzone.
Yeah I felt that. I understand it’s a FPS game but season 1 was all the vibes. Player to player interaction was amazing, if you weren’t bothering me I wasn’t bothering you.
I definitely think the one thing the devs should change is once you shoot for PVP you get automatically marked in the match for the whole game regardless of vest status.
That is why i try to instill the friendly mindset to other players i join with because i tell them. If we are looting and getting the vests back we dont necessary have to shoot everyone that crosses our path unless they are trying to kill us. Especially solos that i see driving around or running. Im like plz leave them alone.
We are forced to PvP without wipes or updates. It would be cool if there was restricted lobbies you could join like “PvP heavy” or “Mission based light PvP” maybe on mission based there are less squads and on PvP heavy there were a couple more squads added
It's gotten more pvp but I think it was meant to happen eventually. But unlike warzone every game of dmz is gonna be different each time. I love dmz. That was an epic ending too ❤
He was trying to enter koshei and either got the PC bug where it stays on black screen for 5 mins then kicks you, or his teammate hosted the trigger and then backed out. He dropped all the plates on the ground within 5 feet of spawning in lol
I think it's because he unintentionally used the koshei glitch (it crashed in the loading screen), and he hates the glitchers so he drops stuff he got out of it
Ultimately, the number one reason it became PVP central is because the design of the mode completely underestimated how fun players would find it to hunt other squads. More rewarding missions, less upside to killing players (can’t take their gear etc) and more punishment for hunting squads (AI ramp up to tier 3 more quickly for player killers, bounty with a larger reward etc) would probably have helped, but season 1 bugs and crashes drove away players I suspect, then by season 2 things had already started to change and the developers were too slow to make adjustments (difficult to know if they expected to have to devote so much developer time to ‘balancing’ the game mode, or if they had trouble with availability of developer time). That period when Chinese 6 man teams rolled around the map was peak problem, of course the ‘average’ player would just stop playing once they experienced that, so you were left only with those who probably had unlocked all gun slots and enjoyed PVP. To assume that players would ‘uphold’ some kind of ‘code’ of play in DMZ is naive at best and downright stupid at worst on the part of the developers. But, it was their first open world type of game and they probably will correct those issues in whatever open world CoD game they decide to do next.
You, Westie, On1c, Stodeh, and stone made it into war zone. Constantly hunting down the lobbies from the towers.. I stopped playing it because I could not do missions anymore without being hunted. It’s not fun anymore
