Morgana IS awesome. She's a bit unhinged, but not unpleasantly so. She's got this weird sexy vibe too. With Victoria, I'd say sometimes we're laughing at her rather than with her. But not in a hapless Badiel fashion. She's ridiculously posh, and is used to being the smartest person in any room, so she gets hilariously frustrated sometimes when she DOESN'T figure things out. There's definitely fun in watching her though. She's posh, but not snotty.
she also said that she didn't mind being bad at physical tasks, that was always going to happen. But the price tasks got to her a bit. Her Taskmaster podcast is quite interesting. Also she forgot her glasses in 50% of the tasks, that definitely affected her score a bit.
One of my absolute favorite seasons/casts. Everyone is good at something, everyone is shit at something, they're all entertaining as hell, and they're supportive of each other in a really lovely way. And how can anyone not love Guz? The man is a charm monster.
I might agree that Desiree's scissor task was the worst ever attempted at this point, but I immediately remember Paul Chowdhry was asked to have the most fun on a bouncy castle and just fell asleep.
When this first aired in the UK they accidentally aired the bleeped version instead causing them to become the only tv show to be complained about for a lack of swearing.
Victoria Coren Mitchell (or Vicky Coren in the poker world) is definitely intelligent but doesn't seem to take herself too seriously. She's also been a guest on a great episode of QI, and has appeared both opposite and alongside her husband David Mitchell on Would I Lie to You, and as a guest on his radio show The Unbelievable Truth. She's probably not technically a comedian, but she's definitely funny. She also once directed a porn film, but that's another story.
I don't know why but I just loved Victoria this season. It might be fun to check out her best moments at poker (she's a world class player). Shows an entirely different side of her than the one you get to see on Taskmaster.
I'd say bubble wrap makes a better blanket than a cushion. It's super insulating and you can get ones with really small bubbles and it's so soft, I'd love to have a bunch and wrap it around myself.
Welcome to my all-time favorite series. There’s just a perfect balance of roasting and sweetness, snark and heart. Morgana is my #1 TM crush, and not just for the obvious reasons. Guz is breezily hilarious and a legit actor (“Man Like Mobeen”). Desiree is authentic and brilliant and repped us Yanks well. Alan (you gotta get into QI) and VCM are British Comedy Royalty at this point. And watch even just a few minutes of VCM playing poker. She’s the real deal. It legitimately makes me happy to see others enjoying things that make me feel better. Sharing that joy is a special thing. A’ight sorry for the long post but I truly love this series. 🎉❤
Victoria, daughter to Alan Coren, writer, satirist and once editor of Punch magazine. Sister to Giles Coren, journalist, food writer and presenter. She hosts the utterly brilliant and mind bafflingly Only Connect. Desiree Burch, before fame, was a phone sex operator and dominatrix. Guz Khan, like the Taskmaster himself, is a former teacher at an academy. I don't have a favourite series. I love 'em all.
Sigh...I just adore Morgana! And Victoria is truly brave imho - totally stepping outside her intellectual comfort zone to muck about - even if she still manages to make everything wonderfully cerebral
I love everyone in this cast. Alan is tired. Morgana is a sexy little alien. Desiree is our good humored straight talking American. Guz is adorable chaos. Victoria is a cute complainer.
Now I'm just thinking that they should do a "champion of champions" except it's "champion of all the contestants who hated Alex the most" and every task is a team task and they're all individually on their own team with Alex
Guz and Morgana immediately won me over in the first task. Between Guz's psychotic mannerisms and Morgana calling Alex a little f**ker, I knew I was gonna enjoy them!
when you started playing around with that bubble wrap my cat (Dixie) started hunting around for where the noise was coming from, he never usually hears whats on TV, although I can't play Stray on PS4 when he is in the room as he thinks the cats are really there...
Alan is by far the biggest deal of them all, career and popularity wise. And the oldest. He has the vibe of "i don't need to proof anything anymore". A traditional role in Taskmaster going back to Frank Skinner. doesn't mean he's not putting effort in tasks, but he decides in which. But Alex and Greg early on always talked about Alan and Victoria as the same age, until Victoria seems to have become genuinely miffed at that and Alan also dropped a "she's QUITE a bit younger than me". And it actually stopped. They are also good friends and neighbours. And some say Alan got in the price tasks quite a bit of a legends bonus. Like for the Whig that got 5 points.
If I could be a piece of furniture I would be pleased to be Morganas' washing machine for 5-10. I danced on Ted Dancons' star on the hollywood walk of fame.
A great season, all the cast is very engaging and funny. Huge fan of Vicky Coren since her poker days. Great thinker, but not overly serious or snooty. I didn't know Guz Khan before the series, a real revelation. Enjoy.
Ive noticed that the often considered very smart are actually very shitty at this show, either bc they never watched or bc they overthink or dont really care that much… there are patterns 😂
Victoria is very posh, but she is also a World Series of Poker Champion. So she just might have a bit of an ego due to her success. She is also married to David Mitchell, who is fairly famous apparently.
damn, i was gonna make a joke about your bubble wrap having an imbalance in the poppability, but i missed the window of originality by quite some margin. seriously though, what can i say about desiree's attempt that hasn't been said already? it's the biggest train wreck of a task attempt we've ever seen. it felt scripted, the way she just couldn't hit the balloon, then buying a bucket full of forks for an hour, and then the portcullis... it has me in stitches every time. man i love this season.
While I love this lineup, there are definitely some tasks in this series that annoy me in different ways. I'm totally with you and Victoria about Alex in the first task. He is moving to a location away from the contestants in order to not be seen by them. That sounds like hiding to me. They could've phrased that task better. The painting task seemed rather unfair for the 6 feet painters, as they had to attach brushes to sticks to be able to paint with which obviously takes up much more of their time. I think either all the painters should have had to paint with long sticks (thus making it tricky for the 6 inch painters to manoeuvre the brushes around), or simply make the task where everyone is having to paint 6 feet away, with maybe water pistols which would result in a lot of splatter on them for laughs. The balloon task was okay, but as evidenced by Guz, the slingshot should have been tested by the task makers better to actually have it as a successful option. I also personally disagree with Greg about Desiree's attempt being the worst ever, it's not really because she was intentionally dragging it out for comedy's sake. Anyway, enough negativity. Getting Alan Davies on TM was such a great thing, as well as Victoria Coren Mitchell, as I'm a big fan of both Qi and Only Connect (think it might be a bit too challenging and UK specific quiz show for you though). The others too are solid inclusions too, Morgana has cropped up in loads of things I know over the years, one in particular is in The Windsors, a satirical comedy about the royal family. Morgana plays Pippa Middleton as someone eager to properly join the royals by marrying Harry. (Katie Wix is in it too as Sarah Duchess of York aka Fergie)
Sorry, but I can't agree with that. "Hiding" always has an element of staying someplace (the hideout). Remember when they had to hide from Alex (Mel's season)? They found a dark corner and stayed there. What Alex is doing here is clearly "running (walking) away". If you're in the same room with him, you can clearly see him, so he's not hidden. Painting task clearly stated what they had to do and gave them the choice, so it's on them if their choice doesn't suit them. Also, having a six-foot brush under a six-inch ceiling isn't just tricky, it's impossible. There is no way you could angle the brush towards the canvas in any kind of sensible manner. So they'd all just fall back to fingerpainting. Painting with waterpistols is an interesting idea, but a) might totally fuck up the waterpistol before you managed to paint anything with it, b) would require a lot of different waterpistols for different colors and c) would just be a completely different task. This one is painting with brushes. And on the balloon task ... no idea if Guz pulled the slingshot back fully (i.e. got full power out of it), usually they've got a lot more punch to them. But it might also have been a trick item, as they often have, and/or could be more useful in combination with the forks (i.e. shooting the forks instead of throwing them, which didn't seem to work well either). Desiree SAID she'd dragged it out for comedy, but did she? Or was it just an excuse (I'm not holding it against her either way, it's also good sportsmanship and good humor to joke about one's failure)? Either way, making an intentionally bad attempt doesn't make the attempt any better and what I find the most important element of it being the worst attempt is that she unintentionally blocked the portcullis herself with one of the forkthrows, thereby (nearly) even preventing the "easy way out" from working.
@@qwertyTRiG You DO realize she bought the forks in small packs, don't you? I mean, I can't see in her brain any more than either of you can (presumably), but that looks very much like the others, trying to get a result without the big penalty of 8 mins (at any point in the game it's cheaper to buy another set of darts or forks, if you believe you can hit the balloon with them). If you told me she was doing it on purpose / out of comical desperation by the time she bought rubber ducks, ok, I'd be willing to concede that. But those first forks don't look any more like "intentional comedy" than the attempts of anyone else.
There's an imbalance in the poppability of your bubble wrap
The prize task for this episode is the perfect proof that David Mitchell and his wife were made for each other
Seasons 12, 13 and 14 are amazing.
I know nobody will see this, but it's worth repeating how amazing it is that 3 top 5 seasons happened consecutively
@TheOrlandoTrustfull It's like 12-14 are the perfect song Chorus, and season 11 is the perfect pre chorus.
Agree

Ah yes S12. The season with probably the best prize task and best stage task of the entire series!
I think this is one of the best seasons tbh. The next few are all great but I love the cast dynamic in this one.
One of the series where every cast member is awesome,
I love the balloon task so much, especially when the wind almost blows his entire shop over.

My god you failing to pop bubble wrap feels like something that would happen on taskmaster
In terms of Victoria, I refer back to my comments about Paul Sinha and that being intelligent is not the same thing as being clever.

Somehow I never connected Giles to Victoria. I really enjoyed the Supersizers series.

I love that spot of Guz with the giant scissors. Looking like the killer from clock tower
I'm so excited that you are so close to series 13 and 14
This cast has such a great chemistry I just love all of them together 😂 such different personalities
If you like Alan Davies, I think you'd definitely enjoy reacting to QI, a funny and clever panel quiz game. It's absolutely fantastic
this lineup is just the best right off the bat. I love this season so much
It's here. it's here!!!!!!! Yayyyy
Season 12!!! WOW!
Guz is my all time favourite contestant. I could watch a never ending reality tv show of him doing tasks all day
He's not my single fav but I think it's pretty objective that he's high tier. I would need him to be stuck with Alex for that show tho xp
Now I'm just thinking that they should do a "champion of champions" except it's "champion of all the contestants who hated Alex the most" and every task is a team task and they're all individually on their own team with Alex

For your benefit out there in Australia, 6 inches is almost exactly 15 centimeters, making 6 feet about 1 meter 80.

I personally like this series but 13-16 are my absolute favourite line of series of all time. Up there with 7 and 11
watch "QI" for more of Allen.
Why? Why did you add Wozniak and that horrible sound to your intro?
Just imagine it's Jamali stomping on a tube of paint
That genuinely makes it worse.
