I have a shop made moxon vise. I like the way it raises the work up above bench level like this vise does. Makes it easier on my eyes and back. The disadvantage of my moxon is it's big (24" wide) and takes up a lot of work space on my bench. Most of the time I'm not working on large items and would love a smaller vise like this Hi Vise. It would raise the work up above bench height, require much less space when in use leaving me more bench space to work on other tasks, and be a lot easier to store and transport because it's smaller and lighter. I'm adding this vise to my wish list.
What would be the advantage of this over a moxon vise or is it just a diff application for the same purpose?
