  • The TCX Dartwood’s form is reminiscent of popular sneakers form the world of skateboarding, but it presents itself with an all-over more mature and classy look. You would never know it, but this well-executed boot is kitted out with some impressive and modern features, delivering style and protection in equal measure.
    Available from Urban Rider:
    www.urbanrider.co.uk/tcx-dart...
Ever-popular motorcycle footwear brand TCX have introduced their ZPLATE technology across various styles in their 2021 offering, the Dartwood included. This addition is essentially a shank within the midsole itself that aids flexibility to give the boot a natural flex more akin to your every day casual footwear. This shank not only achieves this natural flexibility, but it provides transverse rigidity to protect your feet from all directions should you run into trouble while on your bike.
The Dartwood also incorporates a Groundtrax outer sole. This sole is made from a highly wear-resistant, dirt-repelling rubber compound and features carefully arranged lugs and grooves that will give you ample traction on both your footpegs and the ground. The underside even includes a dedicated gear selector tread to keep those downshifts precise.
In the safety department, the Dartwood is well reinforced and protected. The Malleolus area features newly developed low profile inserts from D3O that have ‘Non-Newtonian’ characteristics. This means that the molecules within the armour flow freely in their standard form, but their viscosity can change to become more solid under force. In English: the Dartwood is super comfortable to wear but is set up to take an impact and keep you safe!

Just got a pair of these, absolutely brilliant, comfy and look great. Normally take an 8 or 42 but ended up with a 9 43 as the 8 was a bit snug. 👌

@@manuelglasfort2622 hi, I have actually been pretty happy with mine, they only get summer nice weather use so can’t really comment on the waterproofing. They are comfy and in my opinion look good, the laces have frayed which have been avoided by different material in the eyelets but other than that all good 👍

It's too bad Rokker doesn't make a boot with a zipper (or Boa laces). They make the nicest boots I've ever seen, but it's hard to beat the convenience of a quick entry.

Would you suggest these shoes for colder weather, autumn and spring season?
Also, I would go with gore-tex, but maybe the other one would be warmer? What are your thoughts?

The Hero is simply the best allround boots I ever had.. I have the Gtx oone, extremely comfy and doesn't leak even in the heaviest rain. I have a few other boots from different brands but this is the one I'm using all year. Thinking to buy another pair or two, before it goes discontinued.

Both are great! Hero have been on a market for a while now and have a great reputation but the Dartwood will definitely be really popular too. It comes down to a personal preference and style you want to go for :) - Iza

@@UrbanRiderlondon Yes, this Dartwood seems to be the successor of the X-Groove models (which Ive got a pair from you guys). Looks great, probably very well built.. If I ever look for a trainer style pair, this would be the one..
The Hero is a different animal I think. The reason I prefer them over the trainer boots, it's because if I pull on my waterproof over trousers then its kinda difficult to fasten around the ankle due to the boot being shorter.. Have had some wet feet because of that. Otherwise it looks great and sure very comfy for summer rides..
