I really liked the K'nex men...They basically looked liked construction workers about two inches high(They're definitely taller then Lego men) 'dancing' a little as the spheres rolled toward and under them =) Pretty cool. Thanks for the upload.
This is beautiful, I love how dense and chaotic it is, and I love the themed aspect of it, I don't know if I've ever seen someone do that before. The museum must be thrilled!
There are some other themed machines, but not as heavily-themed as this one. Filming it while everything was running made the video a lot more interesting than just path by path. Thanks!
It isn't running right now because they need to finish the official circuitry (code requirements) and also put a glass barrier around it. I'm not sure when they'll get that done, but the machine was run for a long time during testing/filming and I fixed any problems that arose. Hopefully if something breaks someone can find out how to fix it.
Reliability has a always been my biggest challenge at The Works Museum. They run it 8 hours a day, 7 days a week. I the occasional frantic email if something goes horribly wrong :P
Shadowman I'm not really active anymore, but I check youtube sometimes for new stuff. If I ever have some spare time, maybe I could build some new stuff but I'm not sure that will happen :)
Love it. You guys really nailed the theme with all the little elements. The crane and little house for example are clear, but the 'window washer' and my personal favorite, the Dixie, really add to the theme. A true masterpiece again, congrats on a place in the museum. Keep it up, can't wait what you two have in store for us next.
Shadowman It definitely has been! I haven’t had much time, so I’ve been working on a coaster for almost four years now that I’m hoping to finish soon. I also should be able to finish a video for a smaller coaster I made a while ago too. I’ve missed building a lot, so I’m gonna try to get back into it more before I go to college, and maybe even bring some K’Nex with me there!
@@FrIeDeGgS887 Haha, 4 years is a pretty long time. It's good that you plan to continue building though, even while at college. I wish I had my Knex here, but then again it would be a pain to transport them. I guess bringing micro pieces would be a lot easier.
Seeing this gives me so much nostalgia for the old instructables k'nex days :D My username was Lowney, I feel like I should make something again now haha
Wow, i didnt watched it yet but it already looks .... awesome ! Okay now that i have watched it: Wow ! that is a small but efficient machine ! and im sure it's a lot bigger than it looks on video !!! really well done ! makes me wish i was in Illinois right now ! awesome job ! and 5:21: this moment when you want to see how gears are configured XD and again, awesome job and congrats !

This does look awesome indeed, I love the theming aspect of it! I have to wonder, though, who do you collab a ball machine if you live on opposite ends of the world? xD
So how did you make the reciprocating lift? Do you have a large gear underneath that the chain attaches to? Or another chain underneath that the lift chain attaches to so that it reciprocates?
There's a long chain running underneath that connects the crane and elevator, so they are synced when going up and down. There's a part where the chain attaches in the middle that's connected to a forward/reverse transmission, much like the one I had on Citadel's elevator.
I've been playing with Knex since I was 5. Now I'm 20 and still build stuff like roller coasters and ball machines

I really would like to see all the mechanisms behind some of the elements and lifts because they’re madly impressive...!!
I may take more pictures/video, but not anytime soon. It's supposed to be displayed for at least a year. Thanks!
Pleasure to work with you on this one dude! You did a brilliant job filming and editing. Thanks again for having me!
Thanks for coming over! Was a really fun 5 days.
-Theming
-Clever elements
-Everything is covered
-Compact
What more could you ask for? , awesome job.

Shadowman How often does the museum have the machine run? Have you had problems with any of the more mechanically complex elements breaking down?
It isn't running right now because they need to finish the official circuitry (code requirements) and also put a glass barrier around it. I'm not sure when they'll get that done, but the machine was run for a long time during testing/filming and I fixed any problems that arose. Haha. Well this machine will have a motion-sensing timer, so when nobody is around it will be off.
The cement truck & the loo are my favourites and are really well made!
Great machine!
Well done! Very creative. The theme made it all the better for the museum!
Beautiful! The amount of detail, and the difficulty of adding so much detail, can't be underestimated.
Thanks! The details certainly used most of the construction time. I haven't seen you around in a while, how have you been?
Shadowman I'm not really active anymore, but I check youtube sometimes for new stuff. If I ever have some spare time, maybe I could build some new stuff but I'm not sure that will happen :)
Ah, makes sense, I don't have much time either. Which is why this machine took more than 6 months to build haha.

Thanks! I had to look up the meaning of Dikie, haha.
Amazing!
This is just the awesomest themed ball machine :-D
This is awesome! It’s great to see that you’re still building these days too!
Thanks! It's been a while since we chatted, are you still building the micro coasters?
Shadowman It definitely has been! I haven’t had much time, so I’ve been working on a coaster for almost four years now that I’m hoping to finish soon. This blows my mind, how intricate...

Matt Lowne I miss the ibles days too. Knexflux has mostly replaced it.
I remember you from Ibles, you were pretty active. Sometimes I miss those days too. And you should build something again!
Thanks! Do you get paid to do these things now then?
Last thing I made was the UCS Lego falcon lol
ua-cam.com/video/093pn577LLQ/v-deo.html
The only pay I get is on UA-cam, since this piece was freely loaned to the museum. And I didn't know there was a new millennium falcon!
Ah the good old days ~KGB~
THIS IS SO COOL
Thanks man! I never knew you had a second channel.
Amazing!!!!!!!

I like the portaloo lmao

I have to wonder, though, who do you collab a ball machine if you live on opposite ends of the world? xD
Thanks! Matt took a trip to where I'm at, so we had 5 days to build it in person. After that we just talked about it online.
That. Is. Cool.

Shadowman39 righto, thanks for the explanation, makes sense.
Can you make a ball machine that looks like the deepwater horizon. The ball lift is the drill pipe.
Where them lift/element instructions at?
I'm not sure if I'll make them, since I wouldn't be able to for at least a year.
And I thought my paper conveyor belt was cool.
