I lost my husband of 9 years at a young age of 50 to alcohol induced psychosis. Took his life in front of me. Our journey is over. All gone in a split second. He was my rock, cheerleader, my world, solved all my dilemmas, he was my entire world.
I fully understand and feel for you. I lost my Dad after surgery. He died without warning. I nursed my mother for two and a half years as she died of cancer. I watched her fade each day. For weeks after, I would wake up at night and go to check on her, only to realize she was truly gone. Your song touches my heart. I was a "Daddy's Girl" and a Mama's baby" . 1990 was the worst year with five members of my family passing away from March until November. My father was a master mechanic. I went to a service garage with my friend after he passed away. The smell of the grease and oil hit me like a hammer. I ended up sobbing all over the mechanic while he patted my back. While shopping, I read a special on pickled beets. My mother and I canned down close to 750 jars of various things each fall . Yup, those pickled beets made me sob my heart out. Loss hits you at the oddest times, usually when you think you have control. Never apologize for an honest emotion because you sing about what is in the heart of us all. Much love, Chris.
