Doesn't mean he has to be busted. Look at Fire Emblem, there's like 4 main characters in the whole series that are even good, let alone busted. Look at most Dragon Ball games. The main character is usually around B tier, unless you use resources to make him better. In Street Fighter, Ryu has, to my knowledge, never been as good as Jin is in Tekken 8. I know Jin takes work to learn, I play him myself, but the "He's the main character" excuse for how good he is just doesn't work. Shouldn't the main character be the one that introduces you, allowing you to move on once you've learned the basics, not be the better option from the very beginning?
@@chakrashadow3220 when the whole plot centers around the struggle between your father and your family history I'd say he earned enough cache to be as good as he wants to be so no I don't think it's too out of bounds actually.

@@Merumya down 2 is launch punishable on block but it's still a really good move, I personally prefer to use his down back 4 and down 4 anyway since those lows aren't launch punishable and are less reactable. Jin is still very strong in Tekken 8 and they did make him easier to play compared to most Tekken games (aside from Tekken 3) but he's not the best character in the game; I still think that Dragunov, Nina, Feng, Alisa, Xiaoyu and King are better than him imo.

Jin not being nerfed on the most broken stuff just shows the balance team preference for specifics characters. A LOT of safe strings, natural combos, safe mix ups, and evasive bullshit into one of the longest HB hitboxes in the game into the BEST heat smash in the game (plus on block) that leads to a full combo wall splat whatever u are in the arena, because throws you through the whole arena, u don't need to think a bit. Easily the strongest character in the game, aside Dragunov the boss of tekken 8. 07:23

Took TMM a while to finally see what some people have been saying about Jin from the start. He downplayed him really hard for the first few months of the game.
How fast is it? Isn't it like 22 frames or so, which is basically considered as "unseenable" by many pro/high level players, it's easy to say lab guys, but not everyone has the same reaction time you have, for example I can react to it sometimes if I'm really focused, but Jin has too many bs to worry about, I rather eat the low and beat him with basic fundamentals(Sidestep, punishment).
@@SGHNTZ It's called practicing your reaction times by dealing with the move over and over again in practice mode. Go into practice mode have the computer use a certain move that you're struggling with over and over and practice your reaction time. You can do it too.
@@MonkeyDCaleb You can find clues in the animation to help reacting easier to a certain move, but recognizing a move and reacting to it in time is NOT the same thing, you always see stuff before you react to it, and yes you can train your reaction time, but doing the same thing over and over won't necessarily help. It can, but it's not 100%.
@@SGHNTZ It's much better train than just make excuses Like as I'm typing this to you right now I believe a player like yourself can even do it. I'm not like you said send a hundred percent of the time You're not going to be able to 100% predict a player of the entire time. But you can increase your odds of winning and how to react with repeated practice and muscle memory. I have fought plenty of players who clearly came from other Tekken games that have read every single move I have done I had a friend like that but he had played Tekken for 7 plus years. Let's keep the training King.
Really aside from Tekken 5, regular Jin has always been good, he wasn't amazing in Tekken 6, but in pretty much every other game he's been arguably the best.
