I like how with every trade, Portland is adding a new trade assets. They can flip Malcolm Brogdan and get even more value. Also they solidified their frontcourt with Ayton and Time Lord. Then if they want to bottom out, send away Grant at the deadline.
Maybe, but Brogdan has significant injury concerns, is overrated as a player, and makes a lot of money for one more season. they may be able to find a taker for him, but I can't imagine a team giving up much to take on that contract

This might be one of those rare win/win/win trades between the Bucks, Celtics, and Blazers. Maybe Pheonix didn't get full value for Ayton, but those three got exactly what they wanted and needed.

Portland is 3 years ahead in the rebuild from trading Dam... They got everything they needed going foward with all thier young guns and will not need a star when they have a borderline all star in Simons and two potentail all nba guys in Scoot Henderson and Sharpe... They have a bright future
Simons is not near all star potential hes worse than McCollum and he couldn't sniff an all star selection in the West. Sharpe and Scoot are the guys don't be surprised to see Simons traded next season
@@La5ish_GMGif charlotte took scoot instead of brandon miller, the herro trade would make sense, but as the team was constructed when they moved dame, herro would mean the blazers core consisted of scoot, simons, herro, and sharpe. 4 guys all under 6’6” who are not good defenders, scoot being unknown, but at 6’2” he’s gonna be very limited. They’d have to flip atleast 1, maybe 2 of those guys. The trade so far got them off nurk’s contract and netted them a lot of size quickly in ayton and timelord, and at the end of it 3 1st rounders (2 unprotected from bucks and Celtics, and 1 top 4 protected from GS), and 2 unprotected swaps from the bucks. So far, the trade with the bucks has already been way better for the blazers, and they’re probably still gonna flip brogdon too.

They BEEN traded their front court depth for back court depth. (I don’t mean a literal trade, I mean a tradeoff) and have been contending while banking on their wings for the past few years. With the recent acquisition of Porzingis, the front office probably feels pretty comfortable about the Celtics front court. Seeing as they’ve been playing elite basketball without heavy hitters in their front court for years.
The official count is 4 centers: Horford, Kornet, Porzingis... & Queta (2-way). Plus they have a F/C switch for small ball in Brissett, who is arguably better at the role that Grant played on numerous occasions last year.

I was worried trailblazers wouldn’t get a great package because of Dames age and injury history. These 2 trades combined are fantastic. Get good bigs in ayton and Williams and you can flip one down the line. You get a good mature guard in brogdon to teach Scoot the ropes and can trade him at the deadline. Picks seem good but you never know until later.
I think Chauncey Billups covers the mature guard to teach Scoot the ropes role. The question with Brogdan is does PDX trade him before the season starts or wait until the trade deadline? The former likely will result in a solid return waiting for the trade deadline could result in a much better deal as a team pushing for a championship run could pay more than he's worth or a much worse deal if Brogdan gets injured a not unlikely scenario.

Ayton and Williams is a very solid young center rotation. They have one of the most promising core of guards in the league with Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, and Shaedon Sharpe. They signed Jerami Grant to that huge contract, and even though I'm not quite sure if he's in their timeline, he is a 20ppg PF. If they could swap Brogdon for the right piece and a few more picks... this team's future is looking bright. Those unprotected '29 firsts could both turn out to be lotto picks.

I think they’ll be in a rough spot for a couple years developing, but then they’ll look really good after. Some people are saying they might have a season like the Jazz last year, and I could see it happening, but I am leaning towards more losses for the next year or two before a jump happens. The Celtics are one of my favorite teams in the East so I am excited to see what happens for them, but I do agree that they will be hurt later on, but this might be there last chance to really compete until they get hit hard by the second tax apron.

It now really made sense for the Trail Blazers to accept the Bucks' offer instead of the Heat's rumored offer. Between that trade and the Celtics trade, they got two good, relatively young big men in Ayton and Williams, three first round picks, two pick swaps, and whatever they end up getting for Brogdan assuming they trade him.

Nobody....and I mean nobody is trading for Jeremi Grant. Theyre stuck with him till maybe his last year. Either way though, he wont really matter. His contract is probably a perfect timeline for their team to get back to being competitive. If he plays really good, maybe a stupid FO like Charlotte or Orlando trades for him in a year or two if theyre lucky.

jrue, jb, tatum, tingus pingus, horford...damn that starting 5 is deadly. derrick white from the bench. damn the only thing that could stop them is if someone gets injured and they are basicallly left with 5 good players that can play meaningful minutes in the playoffs.
Jrue has had some shooting issues in the playoffs, but during the regular season he was actually quietly elite as a floor spacer in Milwaukee. On catch-and-shoot 3pt opportunities last year, he was at over 45%. And on stepback threes, he was at 36%. Both of these would be near the top of the league for players with a high volume of attempts. I know people don't think of him as a "shooter," but over the last three years he's really improved that part of his game. Part of that is the attention that Giannis attracts, but he's going to get the same benefit in Boston. Probably more so. There were times in Milwaukee where he had no choice but to be the second option.
Celtics gave too much for Jrue. He is an asset but they sacrificed too much: Brogdon is just superb, and with Williams and two 1st rounders that is a killing move. .
Not going to lie I knew it was either going to be Robert Williams or Derek white that was getting traded cause no way are u getting that good of a guard for next to nothing & that is the perfect trade because now u get Malcolm brogdon who hates us and does not want to be here anymore which I don't blame him out of here But I'm sad about time Lord I understand he's always injured so it made perfect sense and now u get a player back that is almost as good or if not better than Marcus smart on the defensive end plus a real PG on the offensive end

Damian Lillard never played with Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Roy's last year in Portland was in 2010-11 and Oden's last year in Portland was in 2009-10 (Portland drafted Lillard in 2012).
So now they have Scoot, Simons, Sharpe, Ayton, Timelord and a bunch of extra picks moving forward in this rebuild 🤯 also guys like Kris Murray and Ryan Rupert who could turn out to be pretty nice additions

They’d have to flip atleast 1, maybe 2 of those guys.
The trade so far got them off nurk’s contract and netted them a lot of size quickly in ayton and timelord, and at the end of it 3 1st rounders (2 unprotected from bucks and Celtics, and 1 top 4 protected from GS), and 2 unprotected swaps from the bucks. So far, the trade with the bucks has already been way better for the blazers, and they’re probably still gonna flip brogdon too.

I’m really pumped to get a player like Jrue with some championship experience but I’m really, really concerned about the depth of the front court
They BEEN traded their front court depth for back court depth. (I don’t mean a literal trade, I mean a tradeoff) and have been contending while banking on their wings for the past few years. With the recent acquisition of Porzingis, the front office probably feels pretty comfortable about the Celtics front court. Seeing as they’ve been playing elite basketball without heavy hitters in their front court for years.
The official count is 4 centers: Horford, Kornet, Porzingis... & Queta (2-way). Plus they have a F/C switch for small ball in Brissett, who is arguably better at the role that Grant played on numerous occasions last year.

I was worried trailblazers wouldn’t get a great package because of Dames age and injury history. These 2 trades combined are fantastic. Get good bigs in ayton and Williams and you can flip one down the line. You get a good mature guard in brogdon to teach Scoot the ropes and can trade him at the deadline. Picks seem good but you never know until later.
I think Chauncey Billups covers the mature guard to teach Scoot the ropes role. The question with Brogdan is does PDX trade him before the season starts or wait until the trade deadline? The former likely will result in a solid return waiting for the trade deadline could result in a much better deal as a team pushing for a championship run could pay more than he's worth or a much worse deal if Brogdan gets injured a not unlikely scenario.

If they could swap Brogdon for the right piece and a few more picks... this team's future is looking bright. Those unprotected '29 firsts could both turn out to be lotto picks.

I think they’ll be in a rough spot for a couple years developing, but then they’ll look really good after. Some people are saying they might have a season like the Jazz last year, and I could see it happening, but I am leaning towards more losses for the next year or two before a jump happens. The Celtics are one of my favorite teams in the East so I am excited to see what happens for them, but I do agree that they will be hurt later on, but this might be there last chance to really compete until they get hit hard by the second tax apron.

It now really made sense for the Trail Blazers to accept the Bucks' offer instead of the Heat's rumored offer. Between that trade and the Celtics trade, they got two good, relatively young big men in Ayton and Williams, three first round picks, two pick swaps, and whatever they end up getting for Brogdan assuming they trade him.

I like the trade but I think this makes porzingis a big question mark defensively . I liked him and rob playing together so rob could be the help defender or vice versa . Hopefully porzingis is as good as he should be so we get a great eastern conference finals

jrue, jb, tatum, tingus pingus, horford...damn that starting 5 is deadly. derrick white from the bench. damn the only thing that could stop them is if someone gets injured and they are basicallly left with 5 good players that can play meaningful minutes in the playoffs.
Jrue has had some shooting issues in the playoffs, but during the regular season he was actually quietly elite as a floor spacer in Milwaukee. On catch-and-shoot 3pt opportunities last year, he was at over 45%. And on stepback threes, he was at 36%. Both of these would be near the top of the league for players with a high volume of attempts. I know people don't think of him as a "shooter," but over the last three years he's really improved that part of his game. Part of that is the attention that Giannis attracts, but he's going to get the same benefit in Boston. Probably more so. There were times in Milwaukee where he had no choice but to be the second option.
Celtics gave too much for Jrue. He is an asset but they sacrificed too much: Brogdon is just superb, and with Williams and two 1st rounders that is a killing move. .

Not going to lie I knew it was either going to be Robert Williams or Derek white that was getting traded cause no way are u getting that good of a guard for next to nothing & that is the perfect trade because now u get Malcolm brogdon who hates us and does not want to be here anymore which I don't blame him out of here But I'm sad about time Lord I understand he's always injured so it made perfect sense and now u get a player back that is almost as good or if not better than Marcus smart on the defensive end plus a real PG on the offensive end

This offseason Blazers have been going Thug Life on the East….they strung along Miami to screw their offseason, they gave Giannis his best teammate ever, gave Celtics the antidote to Lillard/replace smart and then they made sure sixers have zero options to trade Harden…let’s see what they do with Brogdon to make that Miami deal look even more weaksauce than it already did and gets worse by each continuing move. Now they trade Smart who had good chemistry with the team already to get jrue and they gave up timelord, williams, brogdon for porzingis. The starting 5 lineup got better on paper only
I love this trade for Portland. Keep both players for now. Helps the enemies of the Heat and the Blazers dumped Dame and Nurkic. Got Scoot help. Ayton and Scoot and Sharps are future all stars.

The Celtics basically lost all their 'Giannis defenders' in one offseason, unless they rely on an old Al Horford cause I remember Giannis dropping sweet 55 points on Porzingis.

Damian Lillard never played with Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Roy's last year in Portland was in 2010-11 and Oden's last year in Portland was in 2009-10 (Portland drafted Lillard in 2012).
