- "India, y en particular mis experiencias en Vrindavan me inspiraron a escribir 'It Is He'. Fuimos a Vrindavan donde Krishna vivió hace 4000 años atrás. Es una de las ciudades más sagradas de la India toda la ciudad es consciente de Krishna todo el mundo, en cualquier lugar cantaba 'Hare Krishna' y muchas de sus diferentes versiones.
Fue mi experiencia más fantástica; ir a ese lugar fue grandioso; de alguna manera, Ravi Shankar había organizado una reunión con Sripad Maharaj, un ascético, que hablaba algo de inglés y nos iba a mostrar el lugar.
Llegamos allí mientras anochecía y alguien salió corriendo para tratar de encontrarlo. Todo es muy antiguo, todas esas callecitas y viejos templos. Una muchacha vino y dijo 'Vengan con nosotros', y bajamos donde el río Yamuna solía fluir, pero ahora ha cambiado su curso así que es un lecho seco. Fuimos a la casa de un viejo Goswami (un maestro espiritual, quien controla su mente y sentidos por completo. Swami significa 'maestro' y Go significa 'la mente y los sentidos').
Nos fuimos con este hombre y yo no sabía quien era, y estábamos caminando y mientras más caminábamos, más pensaba, 'Dios, este tipo es increíble', todo el mundo se acercaba a él, todo el tiempo y tocando sus pies. Lucía como un viejo mendigo, pelo largo apelmazado y vestía una túnica vieja y estaba descalzo y todos esos Swamis con cabezas rapadas y túnicas azafrán iban y venían hacia él y tocaban sus pies.
Nos llevó a dar una vuelta por cada templo de Vrindavan y él era conocido en todos. Yo era un rígido occidental cuando comenzamos, pero hubo un momento en el que la atmósfera del lugar hizo que toda la mierda se me desvaneciera. Pensé mucho en este hombre porque se volvió una experiencia fantástica y maravillosa para mí.
Más tarde, nos dieron algunas habitaciones y dormimos sólo por unas cuantas horas hasta que él vino y nos llevó a las 4 am para ir a la Puja de la mañana en el templo (Puja literalmente significa una ofrenda. También significa un servicio de templo como se hace aquí). Probablemente, pudimos dormir por tres horas solamente, pero fue el sueño más profundo que haya tenido en mi vida y durante todo el sueño podía oir coros cantar. Hasta el día de hoy no he podido saber (no creo que hayan sido los templos que podía oir), creo que fue algo más (durante todo el sueño pude escuchar grandes coros celestiales), fue una experiencia fantástica.
Al día siguiente, fuimos a un jardín llamado Sevakunja, famoso por la 'Lila' de Krishna, un pasatiempo, una actividad trascendental (quizás hayan visto imágenes de todas las Gopis, las muchachas; haciendo una gran ronda, bailando en círculos alrededor de Krishna). Krishna siempre tocaba ahí: éste era el lugar donde Krishna se divertía y bailaba.
Este parque permanece cerrado desde la puesta de sol al amanecer y nadie puede entrar de noche. Se ha dicho que las únicas personas que han estado dentro durante ese tiempo se han vuelto locas o han sido encontradas muertas. Todas las aves y animales se alejan tan pronto comienza a anochecer.
Hay un templo dentro con una gran cama de metal sobre el altar y como cada uno de los diferentes templos respresenta un aspecto diferente de Krishna, en éste (porque Él ha estado danzando con las Gopis toda la noche y no se levanta temprano) no abren sino hasta las 10 am para la Puja de la mañana. Todos los árboles, que son muy antiguos se inclinan y las ramas tocan el suelo. Sólo caminar por ese lugar es increíble.
Esa mañana, cuando volvimos del templo a las 5 am aproximadamente, aún estaba oscuro, y nos sentamos en una habitación. Sripad comenzó a cantar un Bhajan (canto devocional) al cual nosotros contestamos, repitiéndolo una y otra vez. Me sentí en la gloria al cerrar mis ojos, y no quería detenerme, incluso cuando sentía que el canto iba a parar, seguíamos cantando. Finalmente, cuando nos detuvimos, el sol estaba tan alto; debió haber sido las 9 o 10 de la mañana el tiempo había volado ¡Fantástico!
Y entonces él me dijo '¿Por qué no transformas eso en una canción?'.
Entonces lo que hice fue tomar ese antiguo canto 'Jai Krishna, Jai Krishna, Krishna, Jai Krishna, Jai Sri Krishna, Jai Radhe, Jai Radhe, Radhe, Jai Radhe, Jai Sri Radhe...' y luego escribí la parte en inglés entre los versos.

George had an ordinary childhood then into the fish bowl as a prisoner of fame he spent his last 35 yrs trying to find out what the hell its all about . In the end he found peace of soul peace of mind and went internal becoming extremely spiritual , his last words to his wife and son were LOVE. EACH OTHER!!

George had everything that Huge Fame, Wealth and Money could EVER buy.
But that could NOT ever satisfy him. Despite all the crazy fans and beautiful women, massive commercial - success, and SO much Media Attention, he was still deeply un - happy.
Now , but why ??
A Living Entity that has a body, that has those limitations and , a mind, but that that also, too has limits. As had reached the very end of what he could achieve in the material World, he looked to another sphere of Life. As a Musician he mostly stayed in the backdrop the Beatles and very few , if any , of his actual writing credits / or Songs were ever recorded as Beatles Songs ,as Paul and John Lennon hogged the media limelight , so much.
As such, he was rather restricted as his creative freedom by the 1970's.
In India, they had already meet Various Gurus - types , who opened their minds a bit, that Transcendence was very possible , in fact, with just Yoga and Meditation. That was pretty new at the time in Western Thought.
People were just so wrapped up ' finding themselves ' that with they became very self - absorbed in many false paths to transcend themselves. Ok, Cheech and Chong, stand up and behave !
He was more compassionate than the other Beatles generally and wanted to go way, FURTHER. But there was actual no way forward at the time frame , until Srila basically came along and the rest part of in History now.
Now Srila was a very advanced thinker and he impressed George a lot with his basic idea of just simply using old Vedic Texts and Chanting Mantras , as a key stepping - stone straight into the world of hidden - side of Ancient Hinduism and Belief systems ( ie ideas such as Karmic cycles, Fate/destiny, Health and Healing, chanting, etc )
They become actual Friends.
Because of their ASSOCIATION ( ie : a correct association ) - he was finally able to transmute himself as a Solo Act, successfully. He knew that this was an answer to his deeper internal- longings and many spiritual beliefs ( something was always missing ). That in essence was the link to the Divine world, right away from all the fans and commercial success he enjoyed. Really - THAT link , was what he craved, all the time, but he only realized it fully after the Beatles split up.
In fact, every human basically seeks and desires that sort of " divine connection " , but so many things get in the way, ( ie : Family issues , daily work, our growing careers, babies , buying cars , women , greed, and wanting some fame and / or more money, and so on ! )
The list is just endless !
But without our true HEALTH ( both INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ) - it all means Zip !
A AMERICAN famous ACTOR, once said : " I just truly wish that EVERYONE could be rich and famous, I really do; because then they would know it isn't The Answer to living a happy life … "
