    Diana Taurasi being on the US team just to get a 6th medal was a travesty. No way was she one of the best players. In fact, she was absolutely garbage and got exposed for being old and was ultimately benched.

  • @beatleplayer1011
    @beatleplayer1011 28 днів тому +20

    Taurasi absolutely should have been benched - she did not have a good Olympics
    Caitlin needed to be on the team because they desperately needed a decent point guard who could move

    • @substance4640
      @substance4640 27 днів тому +1

      @beatleplayer1011 she also has a high turnover ratio. She is also leading the league in turnovers. Please do not say that it is her teammates' fault for not controlling her passes. Her teammates are the reason she is also one of the top 5 assist leaders. I think the coach explained why Caitlin did not make the Olympic team. When the season started, was Caitlin struggling? Yes or no? Just be honest. The coach also said that if Caitlin was playing like she did on the last 10 games before the half, she would have picked her to join the team. The bottom line is that France is a physical team. They play physical. The US did what they had to do to win. Overall, I did not see any need for Caitlin. The only team the US struggled against was France. They beat every other team by double digits.

    • @Jake4Truth

      @substance When talking about her turnovers be sure to mention the following which all together more than makes up for that:
      Fever Dot WNBA Dot Com: Clark is the fastest rookiein WNBA history to record at least four hundred points and two hundredassists in just twenty six games games. During Indiana's six games in July, Clark recorded four-consecutive double-doubles in points and assists, marking the longest streak by a rookie in league history.
      Clark concluded the month of July as the WNBA leader in assists per game (8.2 apg), while also leading all rookiesin points (17.1 ppg),assists, steals (1.5 spg), minutes (35.2 mpg), field goals made (138), 3-point field goals made (71) and free throw percentage (89.1%).

      @Jake4Truth I never said she was not a good player. I think she has the potential to be a very special player. Setting aside the marketing argument, the basketball argument for taking Caitlin was that this team was light on centers and to a lesser extent point guards, with a lot of shooting guards on the roster that could have benefitted from Caitlin’s passing skills. They still won gold, but that final game was close and came down to a few plays - not exactly the dominant performance team USA can deliver at its best. Now, what’s done is done, team USA still won, Caitlin got her much needed rest, and we’ll see what happens in 4 years.
