    Hi Derek and Jennifer. Love your channel. We are looking at a N47 . You mentioned you are looking at solar panels for the boat sometime in the future. Have you sourced it out yet ? Amperage needs and $$$. When you are on the hook , how long are you able to stay without powering up your generator . If you are down Sidney BC way, give us a heads up and we’ll show you around. Kevin & Sandy

    • @MVSKOOKUM1
      @MVSKOOKUM1  Рік тому

      Hello! We haven’t had a chance to look into solar panels just yet. We have to update our electronics soon. They are out of date. So that will be our next purchase in the future. Derek is talking about changing to lithium battery’s too as he’s done some research. $$$. Lol. Right now we can sit on anchor for 18 hours without starting our big generator. But we run a smaller generator we plug into the boat and that helps our batteries from draining and it can charge the batteries too. It’s more fuel efficient than running the big genny ! It would be nice to meet you! If we come down that way again we will reach out ☺️☺️☺️. ⚓️⚓️Jen

      Hey Ron 😊😊Some of the modules are 35 meters in height and weigh 4200 tons! They are sitting on large self propelled modular transporters. They slowly move the module along the project sites haul toad that is 3km long! The modular is then placed on a foundation . Amazing isn’t it. And like Derek said it’s put on within millimeters of the foundation .

    Well done on the 10,000NM, love following you guys. A question, how does the bridle work and why do you use it.

    • @MVSKOOKUM1
      @MVSKOOKUM1  Рік тому

      The reason why we use the anchor bridle it’s because it takes the heavy load off our windlass and the anchor roller too. The bridle connects to the chain and is tied to both bow cleats on the starboard and port side. We will have to make a video clip of how Derek does it. We find it also takes a lot of noise away from the anchor rattling around when we are sleeping at night ☺️. Jen

      Sorry for your loss,love your channel from down in North Florida we’re it’s cool not very cold but did have some low 20degree Fahrenheit. I’ll ask you instead of google what’s difference from LNG and propane ?

    • @MVSKOOKUM1
      @MVSKOOKUM1  Рік тому +1

      LNG is a natural gas in its liquid state after being chilled to -160 degrees! It’s 1/600th of its original volume. Propane is made up of different gases. They are both similar just different in some aspects. Propane is highly flammable but affordable and readily available. LNG is safe to transport and store and it’s non pressurized. Lng is non toxic which makes its eco friendly. We read it’s non corrosive too 😀. Jen
