I was kind of surprised how perfect the color was! I know it was a bit of a "thing" at the time that it wasn't more red, but it's perfect for this collection!
I've been sooo looking forward to this since you mentioned you are using PP kit and snowflake ❄️! I think the 18 tag and the wonky star acetate are my 2 fave pieces. Your foundation pages are great!
This is exactly what ive been looking for...I've been so inspired by so many out of the pocket lay outs but haven't seen many pocket pages. Love love love ☺ thanks so much xxx
I'll endeavour to pop a few bits into pockets today...such a good idea to pull bits that you definitely want to use, there are a few cards and ephemera that I'm in love with! I'm using the AE mini kit and crate paper snowflake too ☺❤✨
Oh what fun to watch this video with my morning coffee! Love what you prep and I will stole some ideas for my DD, plus some ideas from your old foundation pages videos of course 😁 Love your style!!!
This is going to look lovely once completed. No 20 is beautiful and the scratch and reveal page is so awesome. I love the last page. Do you have a link at all on where to get one made?
I bought a set of layered templates on Creative Market to make this portrait. If you want me to make one for you, there is a request form on my Instagram, just check the link tree and it should be the top link (@thevanblife)
REALLY, REALLY enjoyed watching the video Amy! Awesome ideas! Especially liked the wood grain transparency. How did you do that and where did you get the wood grain pattern from? Much thanks!
I don't know if I showed it all, but my 2018 day 8 had me putting vinyl on a transparency as well, It would be near the beginning of the process video! Let me know if you can't find it and want some more guidance!
Love all your pages. I’m doing a version of your page six, have my little envelopes ready and wondered what adhesive you used to prevent being seen in reverse side?? Some adhesive can hide with the embellishments on the reverse side. Thanks so much for your time with my question! Adore your creations!
I used red line tape to add my envelopes to the transparency. You can see it a little bit from the reverse, but with the embellishments it's not very noticeable.
Love your foundation Pages. Can wait to follow along and see it build through the season. Can you tell me the name of the portrait builder you used for the image on your last page?
I bought a pack of transparencies on Amazon a few years ago. They are thin and can go through my laser printer. I think it was a pack of 100 for around $20.
I am so excited to see your finished album. It all looks so beautiful (and I'm definitely planning on stealing some elements from some of your older albums, as well as this one!) With that in mind, can I ask what size those little envelopes came out? They're so cute! x
Hi Marie, I think I might have replied to this on Insta, but I have liked the items in it and find that the value is there! I did get it for $5 off in the box order period though, so I paid only the flat rate shipping.
Love your foundation pages! Two questions - did you use a template for the six little envelopes and did you run the transparency with CHEER in the center through your printer? If so, what type of printer did you use?
for the envelopes I used the WRMK envelope punch board. For the transparency, I have a color laser at home for work, so I just ran it through that. You could have a copy/print center do it for you I'm sure if you don't have access to a color laser printer.
I'm curious about the vinyl on transparency. I'm sorta comfortable on using my Silhouette to cut, but I'm more concerned with applying the vinyl to the transparency after. Any tips or videos on that? Thanks, love your album this year again!
If you go back and watch my day 8 video from last year (2018), I walk through the whole process including in the silhouette software! It was for my Hogwarts Gingerbread house layout. The stars were large enough that I just put them on by hand. I took them off of the vinyl backing and then just placed them on the transparency like stickers! More intricate designs could benefit from the transfer tape I show in the Day 8 video!
I love the portrait at the end. Makes me want to try my hand at making one.
I love it! Thanks for the inspiration! Can’t wait to hear part 2 of the Scrap Gals podcast and hear more about your creative process😁
Vinyl on transparencies....great idea, thank you!
It has truly been a game changer in getting things exactly how I want them to be!
love love love
Super foundation pages! I always love your DD
Thanks Kim! You are always so encouraging!
Great foundations pages, LOVE your family portrait! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Carol!
Always love your foundation/DD videos! I wasn’t excited to prep for DD until I saw this!!
I had a hard time getting in the spirit this year, then my supplies arrived and I've been creating lots!
Absolutely love seeing your December Daily videos! Can't wait to watch all to come! Love what you've done so far!!
Thanks Joanne!
I love every page. Everything is so bright and clean looking. The colour of the album is perfect!
I was kind of surprised how perfect the color was! I know it was a bit of a "thing" at the time that it wasn't more red, but it's perfect for this collection!
Can't wait to see how you complete your pages! What portrait builder did you use for your family photo at the end? Absolutely love!
I found it on Creative Market!
I've been sooo looking forward to this since you mentioned you are using PP kit and snowflake ❄️! I think the 18 tag and the wonky star acetate are my 2 fave pieces. Your foundation pages are great!
Thanks! I have to admit, those are probably my two faves as well!
This is exactly what ive been looking for...I've been so inspired by so many out of the pocket lay outs but haven't seen many pocket pages. Love love love ☺ thanks so much xxx
I usually end up with about 60% in the pockets and 40% outside or in the rings. I like the ease of putting things straight into the pockets!
I'll endeavour to pop a few bits into pockets today...such a good idea to pull bits that you definitely want to use, there are a few cards and ephemera that I'm in love with! I'm using the AE mini kit and crate paper snowflake too ☺❤✨
Thanks for sticking with the 6 x 8. How did you do the stylized family portrait.
I bought a portrait builder on Creative Market! I love 6x8 too much to change it up right now!
Oh what fun to watch this video with my morning coffee!
Love what you prep and I will stole some ideas for my DD, plus some ideas from your old foundation pages videos of course 😁 Love your style!!!
Thanks Caroline!
Hi Amy, thanks so very much! Love your album and ideas! See you at the prep party!
Yes! I'm really looking forward to it!
Love your work. Just watching this video has given me some really good ideas that I never would have thought of. Thanks for sharing with us!
So glad you found some inspiration!
Another great foundation Amy. Love your work and looking forward to seeing what you do this December.
Thanks Cara!
So inspired by your pages! So sad I didn’t use a binder haha but there’s always next month for memory keeping
True! There are always more projects!
This is going to look lovely once completed. No 20 is beautiful and the scratch and reveal page is so awesome. I love the last page. Do you have a link at all on where to get one made?
You mentioned Portrait Maker? Is that a software program or an app?
I bought a set of layered templates on Creative Market to make this portrait. If you want me to make one for you, there is a request form on my Instagram, just check the link tree and it should be the top link (@thevanblife)
So many good ideas. Thank you for sharing! ❤️🎄
Thanks for watching!
I loved seeing how you put this together. Lots of great ideas
Thanks Carollee!
REALLY, REALLY enjoyed watching the video Amy! Awesome ideas! Especially liked the wood grain transparency. How did you do that and where did you get the wood grain pattern from?
Much thanks!
I just googled Woodgrain pattern and found one that was simple. I wouldn't recommend a really detailed one as it would be too hard to weed.
Loving the foundation pages especially the white stars on the transparency 💫
Thanks! I think that might be my favourite too!
Great job - wish I was this organized! Still working through my 2018....
Haha! I have a 2013 one that has sat on my desk 3 years running now! No worries, those unfinished projects will sort themselves out sometime!
Love your foundation pages! Do you have a tutorial showing you making any transparencies?
I don't know if I showed it all, but my 2018 day 8 had me putting vinyl on a transparency as well, It would be near the beginning of the process video! Let me know if you can't find it and want some more guidance!
Perfect! Thank you for sharing your talent!
I was stalking this page with the mini envelopes because I need them! 🥰 I would like to see a process for that! It’s soooo pretty
I have a process video up on my IGTV at the moment, my Instagram username is @thevanblife
I blame you! After seeing your gorgeous envelope page......I HAD to order the wrmk tool😂😂😂😂
But its so good that you won't regret it!! Happy to enable good scrapbooking purchases!
I am using 6 x 8 and am using a Simple Stories Snap album and look forward to seeing what you do with yours!
Nice! My first DD was in a Snap album and I love it so much!
I love it ! ❤️🎅🏼
Thanks!
Love the vinyl idea for transparencies! Also, what portrait.builder did you buy?
I bought a customizable portrait builder on Creative Market. I think the artist is Lisa Glantz
Stunning. I am doing my first Desember daily this year. May I scrap lift some of the ideas?
Please do! That's why I share, hopefully you got some inspiration!
Love your foundation Pages. Can wait to follow along and see it build through the season. Can you tell me the name of the portrait builder you used for the image on your last page?
It was something I found on Creative Market!
What did you use for the printed transparency and then the clear transparency that you added the vinyl on? I love your foundation pages!!
I bought a pack of transparencies on Amazon a few years ago. They are thin and can go through my laser printer. I think it was a pack of 100 for around $20.
@@AmyJoVandenBrink Thank you - I didn't get any of the transparencies but i love the look of them - and how you customized with vinyl! Luly
I am so excited to see your finished album. It all looks so beautiful (and I'm definitely planning on stealing some elements from some of your older albums, as well as this one!) With that in mind, can I ask what size those little envelopes came out? They're so cute! x
They are 2x2.5 inches
Do you think the Advent calendar was worth the price and so far so you like the items?
Hi Marie, I think I might have replied to this on Insta, but I have liked the items in it and find that the value is there! I did get it for $5 off in the box order period though, so I paid only the flat rate shipping.
Love your foundation pages - where did you get your December calendar from??
The December Calendar was from last year's main kit from Ali Edwards!
Curious about the portrait builder you mentioned. What is it? Where do we find it?
You can find it on Creative Market. I believe its by Lisa Glantz.
I'm curious about the vinyl on transparency. I'm sorta comfortable on using my Silhouette to cut, but I'm more concerned with applying the vinyl to the transparency after. Any tips or videos on that? Thanks, love your album this year again!

Does it matter what type of vinyl is used. I am new to the silhouette :)
I have bought all different brands (Cricut, Silhoutte & others) and never found there to be much difference!
