Really good video! When the water softens back up, I'll be giving this a try. I'm really enjoying these videos and am learning a ton from them and the comments. Keep it up Chad!
That’s why the call you Mo’Bass, great Tips as always, When I was fishing for big Pike in Germany I would always take the treble hooks off my baits and replace them with single hooks so not to damage the Pike to bad when they would swallow the baits. Whether it was a big spoon or large crank bait it’s a very effective modification.
I have fished the Kissimmee chain all my life and ALWAYS have a spoon on deck. This day and age so many baits are designed to entice fisherman to bite. Spoons are designed to catch fish.. I never thought until seeing your video how many options are available beyond grandpas pork trailer. Thanks for sharing. Ill be slinging one all weekend
I honestly allways thought spoons were worthless even tho i know bass love shinney things. Never used them once in my life tho so i couldnt have much to say but i know i will be using those methods soon! Thanks! Love these tips
Hi this is rick using my wife’s phone l have heard of putting a big black worm on that weedless spoon like you do the fluke but l like your idea must try l do my own color change to put ice circle in with chartuse the clear takes and the glitter takes chartuse and there also a black back with clear and gold flake on bottom put that in with red purple or chartuse only the gold half will take color you mix it with
So you mentioned that you're not a big fan of garlic, i have been using garlic scent for a while now and I honestly can't tell the difference, would you elaborate on why you're not a big fan?
The reason that I say that is because there have been numerous studies that have Proven that bass find garlic offensive, especially after an initial exposure event or traumatic experience (being caught).
+KayakBassinTV Wow i didn't know that thanks for telling me now i don't know what to do with all this jj's magic i really haven't noticed any difference i mean when the bite is slow it's slow period
+Joel Ortega JJ's Magic and Spike It both use garlic and are great products. Here is a tip. Do a little research (I am actually doing a video on it) about adding amino acids to products like this to make it more effective and even offset any potential for negative response to garlic.
+KayakBassinTV Thanks Chad it is on my research list i have so many things on that list and so little time, but thank you for sharing your thoughts and look forward to that video.
So did you and Gene talk about jjs magic at all? I'm very surprised to see that bass are negatively affected by garlic I've seen jjs work when nothing else would. Just kind of surprised to hear that but I believe what you say so it's probably true. Thanks Chad
I believe it has more to do with the presentation when the bite is slow for me I'll try anything just to get a bite and more often times i end up getting that bite on a bait with no jj's and a hole different presentation.
+Robert Grasso We didn't and you are right, tons of bass are caught on garlic all the time. I just feel like that it becomes a negative deal over time an especially for big bass on pressured waters that may been caught before. One of my favorite lure companies uses a lot of garlic scent and I have caught a lot of fish on them. After reading study after study and the findings of Dr. Keith Jones of "Knowing Bass", I am not really confident when using garlic for really big fish and opt for something more amino based like BioEdge or any of the Berkley science based family of natural attractants.
I've only fished them straight out of the package. I'm looking forward to using some of these tips this weekend. Thanks Chad!
Great tips!! I've never been much of a spoon fisherman but I'll sure give it a try!! Thanks
Really liking these videos. I fish spoons a lot in the winter/ mid summer and learned a ton from this video.
