If possible could you add what Lakes / Loughs / Rivers you are fishing in the description? I understand there are spots you'd probably rather keep to yourself but it would be handy for someone who's getting back into fishing in NI.
Im sorry I don't disclose the locations of where I fish. If you require names and information on possible venues please check out the DEARA website as it lists 100s, then go out and explore. Thanks
Great catches. Ive just started fishing again since i was child but im having big issues with unhooking. As soon as the fish starts wiggling randomly, i get frightened. Its starting to become a fear and im ashamed of it. Im on the spectrum as well so sensory things affect me a lot more than most. Trying to figure out ways to do it like by wearing gloves and using barbless hooks but it hasnt helped much
Nothing to be ashamed of, my advice would be too remember that's once you have a grip on the fish they will stiffen up and not wriggle of course they will occasionally. Just think of it as you owe it to the fish to take hold of it and get the hook out and let it go, after all it obliged to you to let you catch it in the first place. It really is a thing that will just become second nature too you the more you do it. Good luck with it
@castnorthangling5964 Thank you, appreciate the reply. It's not one of those things I could mention to others irl because they'll just make jokes about it.
Thanks Tim, they are not big at maybe size 2, just nipped on the end, I find you don't need Huge hooks when Perch fishing, they will take the whole bait no issues and the ones that can't you don't want to catch anyway!

Nice session, can i ask what size hooks u use for the salamander on the drop shot? So you just nose hook or thread them on a bit
