- this video will show you how my ideal Concrete Pond is built in 3 days with a tight budget.
This concrete Pond has 3 filter chambers and it can accommodate around 800 gallons.
this pond can be a new home for your kois and goldfishes, but for me I specifically intended to use this pond mainly for my future Ranchu grow outs.

What are the ratios for the mortar? Is there a additive to seal it? And how often do you use banana leafs to stabilize the concrete? Phil from San Diego
3:1 sand to cement ratio. For the waterproofing additive (I used Sahara waterproofing compound), it indicates that 1 pack/sachet is accustomed to 1 sack of cement (40kg).
For the banana leaves, probably best to give it a week to stabilize the concrete.

It would have been efficient if it was circular..plus the flooring should be built first with steel rebars before walling..

when do we usually start putting waters and fish? a week after the build pond is dry?
Allow the concrete pond to cure for 1 week. After this phase the pond should be enough to have it filled with water but adding the fishes? Not quite so, because of the chemicals or sediments of the cement that will be present in the water.
Instead of filling the concrete pond with water then brushing off these sediments and then draining it, if you have the luxury to use a pressure washer you can use this for a convenient and efficient way to remove the chemicals or sediments attached to the dry concrete..
However in my case, what I did was the process that required more physical effort. I had to fill up the pond and put pieces of the banana trunks just so it helps on eliminating the chemicals in the water, then I also brushed the walls and floor of the pond to brush the said sediments.
Now for the final step, I tested the waters using a test fish (if it manages to survive then it is good.. however this is not recommended and I suggest you use water test kits).
And viola, finally it took about 1 week of curing time, 1-2day of brushing, filling and pond draining. Also, 2-3 days of test fish observation.

The waterproofing is because of cement mixed with sahara.
The mixture 3:1
gravel to cement + sahara.
The pvc pipes are sealed with pvc solvent cement.

Did you waterproof the inside walls?
Waterproofing is just applied for the finishing, the inner hollow parts of the wall were filled with just the concrete mix W/o waterproof compound

I use Sahara concrete waterproofing 1 pack for every 40kg cement mix

Great idea, but i would do a thick concrete base with steel reinforcing. Then starter bars , placing blocks /walls. and core fill with concrete, Waterproof using fabric in the internal edges to ad strength to the waterproofing... I hope im very wrong, but i think yours will leak.. Hope im wrong,,

The first chamber is a vortex chamber (this serves as a mechanical chamber for the debris or fish waste to fall down the bottom and water will pass through at a certain height on to the 2nd chamber (bio chamber), this is where the good bacteria lives.. best to plan out how to sustain these because they help in keeping your water levels good and clean. Lastly the 3rd chamber, it is just simply a chamber where I put the pump.

@@seathbalili639 although I do not fully recommend my pond sir because it is not perfect but the concept or function of the filter is what I try to promote.
This can be improved but I was short on budget as well. Things that can be improved with this pond is better foundations or flooring with the use of bars.
