That is an excellent question, and one that unfortunately I have NO IDEA of the answer to!! 🤦♂️ Honestly, I wish I could tell you, but I usually just keep playing the game, smashing the levels, and tend to overlook the other little things going on in the background. I'll see if I can find out, going forward...
So I sorta figured it out. I got to 146 pick axes and started using them. When I got to the final puzzle it said max and I won. I had 56 pick axes left at that point. So somewhere around 150 to 170 is probably right.

I think I only had 5 misses in first 4 rounds but didn’t notice if I got an extra pickaxe as I went.
