    I kind of feel bad for the old guy, for him not understanding that everyone left because they would never have been able to "live like aristocrats like in America" in Moldova, he literally described the corruption issue just before but doesn't understand that that's one of the main reasons why people leave?

      All while driving a capitalist Renault Velsatis... a lot of these older people are 100% hypocrites!!! They all use capitalist products... fashion, tools, cars, computer, modern appliances, etc. they've grown more than used to it and take it for granted, but somehow they all cry after the communist era, "because it was better"... where there was mostly darkness and boredom and brutal oppression and that's it! None of the communist leaderships in Eastern Europe ever managed to produce the goods at the level of quality the capitalists produced in the Western hemisphere... also one of the main reasons they went bankrupt and eventually crashed... they only knew "copy-paste", not actual R&D...!!!

    European promise is a replacement for the previous promise of communist utopia. Problem with both these promises is, they are in the future, while we are in the present. So both are basically faith based religions.

      Right. For example Western Balkans - on the road for 30 years. Conditions are currently such that none of the current members meet them.
      Bulgaria was received so fast that their parliament adopted laws in English or German, there was no time to even translate them, let alone implement them. Similar with Romania. Criteria was proximity to Russia, obviously.

      @branimirsalevic5092 For 30 years... Albania only formally applied to join EU in 2009, BiH in 2016.
      Bulgaria adopting laws in English/German... sounds nonsensical, but I would like to know more.
      As for proximity to Russia... i have this slight feeling that somehow Common Market will outlive Russia.

    If Moldavia wants to join Europe, it should first integrate with Romania and become an EU and NATO member by default. If it chooses to look eastward, it has to make peace with Russia in order to get back Transnistria and enjoy favorable trade deal bonanzas from Moscow, (like subsidized gas from Gazprom).

      Why couldnt Moldova just stay Moldova but part of EU? Also if it would go the Russian route this would mean Russia would not let it leave under threat of invasion since once pro-Russian always pro-Russian or branded USA "actor" or something along those lines by Russian logic

    Yeah but those young people screaming they want to join the EU....as soon as that happens they all leave the country immediately. THey don't want to make their country better, they mostly want a better life for themselves. That's all. It's the same with people from Georgia and Ukraine and the reason why all these countries so desperately wanted to join the EU

  • @syedmustafa2822
    @syedmustafa2822 16 днів тому +9

    Joining the EU is something that all Moldovans would welcome regardless of their political affiliations but NATO is something else, because Moldovans know what just happened to Ukraine which tried to join NATO that same thing could happen to them especially with regards to dispute with Transnistria which could lead to war and they are nowhere strong as Ukraine. Diaspora Moldovans want NATO membership for their country and it's not a bad thing but they are being unrealistic. People living in Moldova know this that's why they support Pro Russian parties.
