Speaking of diverse body types, I think having fat/big characters wouldn't be that problematic if them being fat had another layer of character. For example, Roadhog. Sure, he might look fatty, but he has a weightlifter physique with his beffed up arms and legs. This means that he's the "strongman" kind of fat guy, which is amplified by his skillsets of being a Hook Tanker. He's strong enough to pull you closer and he has enough bulk to ignore some damage.
THANK YOU. I keep seeing Concord redesigns completely missing the mark or just straight up saying bigoted things for no reason (especially for the enby characters). Hope your channel won’t stop growing from here, your videos and art are awesome.
true some artists said some cruel stuff and really missed the mark on the redesigns. at least most of my fellow artists did a good job fixing the game's awful characters. thank you for the kind words
Thanks god, im so mad every time stupid ppl say that "woke propaganda" is ruining their favorite stuff, when most of the time the blame lies with the writers, cartoonists, executives, etc., regardless of their political ideals.
yeah that's one thing I really didn't like about some concord redesigns I saw many artists doing different interpretations of the characters, but some just turned them into a generic hot charcter with barely any clothing
Did it fail because it was “woke”(god I hate that word), no. Did “wokeness” have nothing to do with it failing, no. From what I’ve read about the company and its higher ups along with the character designs “woke stuff” clearly had an influence on its failure. How much of an effect is up to you. Would the same have succeeded if all the characters were 15s out of 10s, no. All attractive characters do for a game is get eyes on it. It doesn’t guarantee a purchase. The game failed because it had nothing going for it. The characters were unattractive (for a live service hero shooter which makes most of its money through skins that’s very bad), the art style was meh, the world was boring, the gameplay was run off the mill. No one was gonna care for the story for the previous reasons
I hate that word too. Exactly, making them hot wouldn't guarantee success. The game was very mid, a full remake would be necessary to make it barely competitive in the hero shooter genre.

Thanks for your level-headed video! I agree that in production design, diversity doesn't need to be ugly just for the sake of political correctness.

And the people “fixing” the designs by making them revealing. God damnit people.
yup

In my opinion, catering to left wing twitter activists is woke.
It is woke in the sense that it is radical progressive
But I don't like to call it woke because that word has lost it's meaning
