John Gierach has long been my favorite author. I've read all of his books many times over. I'm thrilled to see he has a new book. Thanks for the book reviews.
I’ve been an avid reader for over 50 years, sometimes 3 books at once. The only books I don’t let go of are a few antiques, and John Gierach books. By far my favorite author. Can’t wait to read his latest. 🙂 Thanks for the reviews. Y’all have a great one at MROs! 👍👍🎣👌
10 years ago, for my 50th birthday, the only thing I wanted was a copy (used paperbacks are fine) of each of john Gierach's books. I'd only been flyfishing for about 2 years at the time and had found Sex, Death and Flyfishing in our local library. I still pull one off the shelf occasionally and re-read it. I prefer his early work (hiking and camping in the headwaters instead of fly in lodges with chefs). I am looking forward to reading this new offering though.
I learned to tie through books in the 90s. Way easier now with youtube though. One book I remember reading over and over again was an Orvis book by Tom Rosenbauer about how to read trout streams. I read that so many times. I always wanted that Fly Tiers Benchside Reference book. Finally found it on ebay for cheap the other night. Really looking forward to getting that one.
Books are wonderful things they can take us to places we’ve never been and make us think about life as we never had . John is a great writer once you start reading his books your waiting for the next to come out . Watching this has made me go to my library and pull out a book I haven’t read in over 40 years ,Return to the River by Roderick L. Haig -Brown . It’s a must read book if your a fisherman . Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for being here but you'd have to send that over to him directly at admin@madriveroutfitters.com. He doesn't monitor the comments here on UA-cam, but he does monitor the shop e-mail daily. He'll be happy to answer/discuss.
Well the two videos at the end of the video that you wanted us to look at didn't show up for me. If I was a book reader I'd probably buy these, but alas I'm not much of a reader. It's not that I can't, I just don't enjoy it. Probably due to lit teachers that always told me how shallow my analysis was but that's a story for a different day. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check it out. Have a great weekend Mike. 👍👌
I wish someone would re-publish other classic fiy fishing books. My bookshelf has Charlie Fox and Joe Brooks...That was a different era.
Thanks for watching.
I’ve read your book Brian, fly fishers guide to the mad river. Do you have any new books coming out? Thanks, looking into this book.
