No, it is not. I can tell because two guys were handling it easily. That's a four man job if it's granite that thick.. It would be expensive. I think I also noticed the hole for the sink had not been cut yet. They don't cut that hole on site if it's marble or granite. Sometimes they have to add metal supports to cabinetry to properly support granite or marble. It's unbelievably heavy. Love from a old lady in Atlanta; that used to work for a granite counter top company, and before that a cabinet shop. 😎 Fancy tape measures for all of that. I was a "finisher" Also final inspector. Hard work. Good times..
Agreed. Once “scuffed” to make the paint adhere, there’s nothing you can do to restore them when the paint starts to fail, only repaint or remove the tile entirely, a job nearly always full of unforeseen consequences...
I disagree a bit about criticizing curtians. They could just open them up/pull them back to expose the windows and light. Don't necessarily have to remove everything.
They are giving the good people of Portugal a bad name! These people just can't decorate. Each room made me more upset than the last. IDK how a married couple lives in the same room as their THREE children. How on earth do they keep their sex life alive with kids in their bedroom and parents down the hall?
They want to make the owners be aware that they cannot expect another Portuguese family to buy the house so they have to make it appealing to everybody else. Nothing wrong with that.
@@vaderladyl then perhaps say that, then stop saying that, it was the amount of time their ethnicity was brought up that I'm questioning not that it was brought up, at this time
The young lady who was moving out brought it up herself 3 times, and the host brought it up a couple of times. Then the actual real estate agent brought it up too. It was always relevant, not meant to be alienating.
@@whisperingleaves4157 I'm sure during the filming it was mentioned many more times but it needn't have been a sticking point. Rather than the reason the house hasn't sold being, the furniture choices or that there are many people living there, the take away from this episode is the house didn't sell because of their Portuguese style. This focus was a post production choice rather than an indication of the housing market
Portuguese are proud of their ethnicity. They feel they are particular. They feel they are special. It will make them feel good if you mention it in a nice way. It will make them feel you are trying to understand them (and yes, Portuguese love their 'azulejos' tiles and yes it's a Portuguese thing). If you don't mention it, they will bring it up.

Sophie is very unprofessional by making insulting comments to clients, or in her commentary about the house. Also, what does every house makeover include green paint???
When looking for a house a couple of years ago I viewed a house that a elderly woman had lived in for 20+ years. It was painted Barbie pink (so hideous😂) in every room. I thought it was great she'd gone with what she loved, it was her home! But it's just paint - pretty easy to change if you don't like it.
Actually, your grammar is so bad that what you just said is that EVERYONE had an accent--you used a double negative...."no body (spelled incorrectly---it's 'nobody') didn't have..." is saying that everyone had an accent because the "nobody" negated the "didn't have." Grammar and syntax matter.

😎
Fancy tape measures for all of that.
I was a "finisher"
Also final inspector.
Hard work.
Good times..
@@xxxxxx7540 Thank you. Hope you’re doing well. Cheers!
What was the asking and final sale price? Sigh...
Yep. Also wondering. And how much was the cost of the renovation.
@@rianamohamed300 Reno was 3,500.
@@iheartbridalcouture5989 thanks. Didnt count.
There's nothing wrong with the tiles in the kitchen...or the cabinets!
front room , plastic on the lamp shades and yukky pink colour ????
WoW !!!!!
Painting the tile was criminal. Should have played up the Tuscan look.
I agree. The kitchen tiles were attractive, would’ve nicely gone with the off white & olive green and look more unique and more expensive.
Agreed. Once “scuffed” to make the paint adhere, there’s nothing you can do to restore them when the paint starts to fail, only repaint or remove the tile entirely, a job nearly always full of unforeseen consequences...
It's a nice cheap fix for the seller and a happy screw you to the buyer.
The point is to not play up ANY look.
I would do all this if I had to stay in the 🙄 house
I disagree a bit about criticizing curtians. They could just open them up/pull them back to expose the windows and light. Don't necessarily have to remove everything.
The two-tone cabinets in the kitchen look terrible. Should have all been the sage green.
Yes the statues were so many the Roman empire liked this video
How old is this program?
They destroyed those wooden cabinets with paint then praised another home that had natural wood...?
No kidding! They need to critique their show before airing it!
They are giving the good people of Portugal a bad name! These people just can't decorate. Each room made me more upset than the last. IDK how a married couple lives in the same room as their THREE children. How on earth do they keep their sex life alive with kids in their bedroom and parents down the hall?
They do have 3 children. Seems it's working just fine.
In today's market that house would sell for 1.3 million.
Was is necessary to mention their ethnicity so much?
If you don't mention it, they will bring it up.
its very dated and looks dirty ,( its possibly not )but it looks it .
10 people living in a home is hard to keep super clean
@@jmcast3195 rubbish.
@@dolly9345 well, its the only one im writing , youre stuck with it .
It looks like really old people live there, the decor is horrible
That's not old world "charm", what about any of that is old world?
Nice, but older style
Stainless steel appliances - where? Some comparable being shown. You'd think they would be more careful with their narration.
Please do not be defended, you are a beautiful woman, you look like a young Joan Collins, she was in Dynasty a famous serialisation in America. X
Joan Collins is British, and I believe Sophie would know who she is. She does look similar to Joan Collins.
The kitchen looks horrible, they should have kept the tiles.
10 people in a small house? I bet their neighbors love them; but then, maybe they are just like them. Pink paint? Please, they didn't know that was ugly & most people don't like it?
Her designs are out of date !
She needs to do a refresh course to give her new ideas with creativity.
Most rooms don't have that "wow" factor to bring in the buyer and the extra money 😒😕😟
The show was first aired a dozen years ago... so the decoration they went for was perfect back then
Interesting show but the camera person must have ADHD! Trying to induce dizziness and epileptic fits?
After the fix up, there were still things that needed to be better. The show missed so many small details, and the color choices for the kitchen did not wow. I was disappointed with the final result, actually. 👎🏼
My thoughts of this jiffy fix up over two days was, "lipstick on a pig" ... I think buyers can see thru that ... I know I did when I went looking at houses...
what percentage do you sophie get from this ?
Sophie is very unprofessional by making insulting comments to clients, or in her commentary about the house.
Also, what does every house makeover include green paint???
HOW OLD IS THIS SHOW???
About 12 years

Who lives in pink house in these times...
Lots of people. Check out some bohemian themed interiors on the 'Pineapple' UA-cam channel. One of my favorites.🏩
When looking for a house a couple of years ago I viewed a house that a elderly woman had lived in for 20+ years. It was painted Barbie pink (so hideous😂) in every room. I thought it was great she'd gone with what she loved, it was her home! But it's just paint - pretty easy to change if you don't like it.

... and no body didn't have an accent in this video !!
2outta3ain'tbad Because it's in Canada, hon, lol.
@@Kevin-sm8pn ya still waiting to hear the Canadian one lmao
Actually, your grammar is so bad that what you just said is that EVERYONE had an accent--you used a double negative...."no body (spelled incorrectly---it's 'nobody') didn't have..." is saying that everyone had an accent because the "nobody" negated the "didn't have." Grammar and syntax matter.
