I think this song perfectly expresses how someone feels with depression. Hopelessness, anger, and nihilistic feelings. Might just be me but this song is exactly how I feel and I can relate to what the singer feels, and it really is a good vent out song.
I was diagnosed with depression when I was 17 and 29 now, and have been fighting it and hanging on.
PS. I was never an emo, and always tried my best to hide what I feel, cause in the real world weak men are frowned/shunned by society.

It felt like everything I've been through these past four years in highschool didn't matter it felt like nothing anymore, felt like the bonds I made were never meant to last, expect the pain, and I tried so hard to go beyond the negative emotions yet it felt that it didn't matter, in the end I felt I emotionally gave up, cuz I don't care about graduation I'm just doing it for my family from this point but all In all I tried so hard, I put my trust into people but in the end it doesn't even matter

I don’t mean to make you more depressed, but the only thing you can do for yourself now is focus only on you as selfish as that may seem. No one will help you anymore, so the best thing to do is find some kind of purpose and constantly chase it. It’s what I’m doing and the only thing I can do. I wish you the best of luck.

So sad to read all the heartfelt comments regarding Chester's suicide...I don't know if we'll ever really know why someone who connected with and helped so many millions of people decided to take his own life...The lyrics of his songs reveal someone in chronic pain, and like so many others just knowing I wasn't alone in having pain like that helps me cope. God I wish Chester had chosen to LIVE. And while that may be selfish, there are a hundred people right here who would have tried to talk him out of killing himself. Didn't he know we CARED? Didn't he feel LOVED by millions? Didn't that make a difference? I think not, and hope that anyone else out there thinking about ending it all will just try to talk with another soul...realize you're a unique and beautiful creation who cannot ever be replaced. RIP Chester. I love you and your music forever.
I never thought I'd feel the same way too.... back in 2000 when I was 10, this song was like a haywire to me. Listening to it makes me headache. But who knows fast forward to 15 years later, it's the way I feel. And I didn't get headache while listening to this song anymore.

he knew and felt all of the love and the fans in the community he created with linkin park and through all the positive things he did in life. but when you have depression, you could be in the dead center of all those millions of fans, and feel all alone. after his best friend took his life, it ate at him to the point where he couldn't take it anymore. you can definitely tell in the song heavy. the world lost an amazing man and artist

Chester Bennington was such an inspiration in my life to keep fighting through my depression, and to this day, his music still helps me. The world was truly blessed with a great man, a great voice and a great band. Imagine the music he would have made today.

I can't remember how long I used to listen to Linkin Park. But I do remember those times when I listen to their lyrics because of fear, depression and anxiety. Music was everything I had those times and now when I have my own place and lovely girlfriend I can tell that there is nothing more important than message that we’ve got from the music. I hope you’ve done well and fight depression with strength of your hearts
It's sad to think that when Chesters lyrics were there for people feeling very low and brought them back, there was no-one to do same for him.
