The voiceover sounds like the guy who introduces books on audible.

That is awesome! I'm truly humbled and honored to have played a very small part in that process. I'm proud of you for working so hard and learning so quickly! I would imagine it is hard to accept a disability at first, but I hope you can find comfort in knowing that it is all a part of God's plan. Reminds me of Joni Eareckson Tada's story that I heard on the radio recently. She said her paralysis was a direct answer to her prayers, even though she didn't realize it at first. May God Bless You!
Your voice is so awesome!!
Wait, how can the dad pay for the bus if he can't pay for the show.

I come back to these videos over and over. They are wonderful for someone learning braille by sight. Thank you!
Then you sighted teachers have one big problem.
Braille Is Not a Visual Language. It is a Tactile language.
Unless you Actively Feel How it reads, You Won't Appreciate Ita At All.
It's no wonder that Braille resources are almost nill in public schools;
Which shows me that functionally blind illiteracy is now encouraged while the "Normal Sighties with their Eye-Candy Passions" get to graduate and get a required sheepskin...
I just remember this one because of the name Andy. Without the dots six, it's symmetrical, and I love it. It's one of my favorite real words. I've also learned that I love the word matchstick, because it has ST, and then, right after it, CH, with are opposites, and look like an arrow together in that order. It's very satisfying to feel.
I was going to sleep but I found this
Have you ever considered, making videos on Nemeth Code! That is a area that I defenitly need improvement since I haven't had the chance to actually study it and am in very need of learning it fast! An imaginary story for Nemeth code would be great!!! Let me know if you could consider it!!
@freddiejos No, I've just really enjoyed making these videos. I like trying to take a complicated subject, like braille, and making it far less intimidating and easier to understand. I hope that's what comes across in the videos. I'm going to be moving on to computers and other subjects soon. If you have a suggestion for the topic of an upcoming video, please let me know. Thanks for your comment!
You're an AWESOME teacher; not going to name names (or vids) but there are OTHER PEOPLE on THIS VERY WEBSITE, who have the KNOWLEDGE of braille, but they actually, ALTHOUGH WELL MEANING, are horrible, piss poor teachers. Okay, gotta go, I'm taking notes on this video.
These videos saved my quality of life. 1 month after becoming legally blind, I was reading Grade 1 fluently, and 2 months after, I was reading Grade 2 fluently thanks to all of your mnemonics which I don't need anymore. I can also now use a slate as fast as I could hand write. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
how did you type this
@@weirdboi3375 they can type but can’t double check it
@@weirdboi3375speech to text to write, and to double check it they use text to speech
The last time I was amazed in learning something on UA-cam was so long ago. Then this Master came. WOOOW! Can’t believe I am now starting to get familiar with the Braille I though would be impossible for my brain to handle. Woow!
Love the way you make it seem so easy! I have struggled with Contraction Braille like forever and it's always easy to run the risk of forgeting it if you don't practive it, jajajajajajaja! Thought after seeing this video two times, I remember more contractions than what I learned in my clases in a month! Though my clases aim was more how to teach braille to kids with visual impairment, it's still very helpfull to have videos like this to help us keep refreshed in all these contractions! Defenitly going to see now all your Braille Videos!! Two thumbs UUPPP!!!! = D
shicat23 you're Spanish?
Your introduction is deceiving, this isn't 'one lesson'. It is 1/7th of a lesson. ;)
Tru but it's a whole different language (in a way) so can't really expect to learn it all so easily 😋
R/woosh
I just listened to a fast food version of grade 2 braille. Please annunciate and slow down your speech and give more information. I am a blind person, and did not get any useful information.
"and edit it *too*"
Thanks!
This is wild... and so helpful! I'm signing up for a braille transcription course and saving all of these. Thanks!
you should do videos about the sign language too!!! you're amazing i really got helped!!! :)

I thought in the other video you said that the commas and periods and stuff like that were the letters a-j but they got put one cell down
Thank you very much for these videos, i don't know when if ever i may use this but its nice to learn. For the record i burst out laughing when i heard akuchikuchikuu
I have struggled with grade 2 braille for over a year....I fee like a total idiot
Ok I was ok with grade one... but This!!!

I am low vision from glaucoma and I'm learning Braille for my vision and my career as a Braille educator for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
lost track.
toe on auto-pilot
I lost it at the GQ er'were hahaha!! Love these videos!
All these videos about Braille! Awesome. But just a question: are you blind?
You are old
@freddiejos Great idea, thank you! I wasn't aware of that module.
There has got to be a better story than this!
So long winded
mellorarma it’s literally 50 things.
Fuck you. The best stories in life are long, and you must read them through all the way to the end.
Failure to read even one small subparagraph will force you to get questions wrong on that material should a random pop quiz come up.
If you're not learning a necessary resource, consider it fleeting from you when you want to try again the second time..
Computers can read comments for blind people.
Really great use of memory palace conept to help us learn...😮 I appreciate how much u like to share knowledge

10:55 Are you allowed to write GG in Braille as in Good game
3:12 did you purposely do that?
I have a question (I’m a sighted person learning Braille)
For bottom row contractions such as con/cc or dis/dd, how could you tell which letter combination it represents? Like how would I know if it says “access” or “aconess” if they both use the same contraction for con/cc?
And for the was/by word contraction, how would I know if it says “was” or if it says “by”? I know I could usually tell through context but there might be ambiguity at times right?
Memorizing the story is difficult enoug
I honestly will never remember that sentance.
I think you'd really benefit by doing braille translations for the new Netflix Show, *_"The OA"_* -- people are dying to know what these hidden messages are and are all clamoring for answers.
In One Lesson - I teach a middle school elective that makes accessible materials for the visually impaired and blind students in our school district. Do you happen to have a blank version of your cheat sheet saved somewhere that my students could fill out while watching your video?
its so hard
Can anyone help on this as I have much works for the visually impaired waiting for me please?
Grad II Braille is my absolute fave!
I'm totally blind since birth and would majorly prefer to have a braille display as opposed to just speech.
If i had my way, speech tells me what's more important on the screen; whereas the braille display would be used to roam the screen.
Just finished breiling out this video for regional Braille challenge practice.
Great work, can we link up for you to guide me more? I love your teaching style
That short story was hilarious. Some of them didn't make that much sense but great to remember.
Im here because of Pokemon
I'm so confused!!! Lol
Thanks! Im a future Sped teacher and this really helped ☺️
Can you make a video explaining the difference between contracted and uncontested braille?
This has been very helpful. Thank you! It is really brilliant!
Awesome.. Thanx
So, this braille system is only for people who speaks english, right? how about someone that speaks spanish? how does a spanish speaking person use the "and, for, of, the, with" cells? how do you know when a text is in a different language? is there an international system for the contracted word cells? Thank you.
Lauriux Rocks! Yeah, this particular system in the video is English Braille. But there's also Spanish Braille, French Braille, etc.
Alisa Rii But what if you are for example in a big city in your own country, but a lot of tourists come there so there are more serval texts in different languages... is the like a code at the beginning in that case?
i'm guessing they wouldn't need one, because they would have learnt the appropiate code for the languages they are fluent in. But there may be regional variation within the same language, so I'm not sure ^^
(PS: Doch, du!)
I guess you would soon realise that you can't read the words. It would be like picking up a German brochure and then look for an English one. Braille books are rather large. They don't lie about in random places.
It’s 2022 and I’m still getting saved by this video!
I have a similar testimony. I year ago I prayed to be able to really "see" Jesus Christ and to understand the Bible more clearly. As I started losing my vision and began reading the Bible in Braille, I know God answered my prayer! Thank you again for playing a "huge part" in my road back to literacy!
Some guy: Wow, what a game.
Me: Cells 2,3,5,6
That guy: ?
Ozee oz!
WHEN?
This..is..good. Never seen anything like it
Amazing
Cheers. These videos are magnificent!
r^ow.
i totally get it man!
I am a new user of Index Braille Box V5. I really have a challenge on how to get started step by step that is installing a DBT which I have recently purchased; how to use it (DBT) to save, edit and print a document/booklet; harmonize or set the embosser settings preferred and also want to know whether we can only do the settings on the computer and leave the embosser settings fixed.
There is a facebook group where you can ask all these questions.
@InOneLesson I've always wanted to learn braille, but didn't know how to start. I suggest you go on with making good videos and suggestions for topics will come in very soon.
PS: you can use the moderator module on your channel to let your viewers and subscribers choose what you should do next.
freddiejos
So, for "beach", would it be "b, ea, ch"?
Or "be, a, ch"? Or could you do both? Or is the "be" just for the word, and not two letters?
Ausar0 "be" is just for the words where "be" is pronounced, such as before, beneath, begin, between.
Beach is B(ea)(ch)
"ea" is only for contractions in the middle of words and a secondary sign to other contractions such as "ar", so dear is de(ar)
Thank you much. Very helpful.
I was hoping for another story for K to T like the one for A to J
Please help, I've already memorised a to j
Delmy Hernandez just add the dot on bottom left, it's really easy once you memorise a to j , at beginning it might take time but I am sure it's easy to differentiate between letters with little practice.
Very usefull..thanks alot sir...
Do you have links to websites selling good braille books?

hungry hippo how can you write those signs?
Is this an english or american braille?
This is English Braille American Edition (EBAE). As of 2016 it is no longer the official way to write in Braille the United States of America. The US is now using the Unified English Braille (UEB), which unifies the way Braille is written in the other English speaking countries. A lot of EBAE is similar to UEB, so these videos are still very helpful and applicable when learning UEB. But be sure to double check the information in these videos as they are for an old system of Braille.
